One of the things I've noticed when it comes to the pushback against using a brewing stand to get pearls through trading is that some conditions hadn't been met that make everyone more amenable to the idea. Finding wither skulls, the dragon egg, high tier chest loot and blaze rods before the pearls, all in fast succession of each other makes people want to see a speed record; it makes them more agreeable about the trading. Like what happened before. The episode itself wasn't close to the time you'd want to end the vid for here, but because you found so many other goodies so quickly, it made your live viewers want to see if you could get it done in one because you had lots of time left. I'm happy for those if they happen, but also don't necessarily want to just fall back on trading just because it is easy access. Gotta work at least a little bit, you know? 😄 Anyway, I believe that may be an explanation for the shifting attitudes of how willing people are to let trades happen, or not.

Yeah but most of the time trading isn’t even an option for a while so I hate seeing him suggest it too quickly. Like if he is already at a village with a brewing stand and has access to emeralds then fine, just don’t work towards trading INSTEAD of pearls.

35:20 "one of these days i'm just gonna just focus on travelling around and not crafting things"????? what are you talking about? i really want to see an episode where properly focus on crafting things. currently you focus on breaking things, placing down the new thing and breaking that! there are so so many things that can be crafted from just wood. you currently mostly do: log, stripped log, plank, pressure plate, button. leaving out: sign, door, slab, stairs, fence, fence gate, wood (6-sided), stripped wood (6-sided) every normal log you acquire, you only check 5/13 options i find it quite surprising how rarely this is an issue (i am clearly only counting the things that have a different variant for each wood type and that are placeable for the sake of random crafting. also leaving out things like hanging signs as they need something other than wood) edit: how did i miss trapdoor? and how is part 2 of this series showing me that??? still, usually 5/14 then...
