it’s all fun and games until u realize that jaemin “messed up” the choreo bc he was initially going to do haechan’s part which is HIS part in the 5dream version, and chenle running in to cover for mark & knowing the choreo bc he’d actually take that spot when they perform as 5 it’s always nct dream adjusting for the other units every time haechan and mark leaves for an nct 127 schedule. nct dream would rearrange the parts and the dance formations several times-even when jisung got injured, rj had to take his intro for boom. nct dream don’t get enough credit as a separate unit. their achievements are mentioned as an achievement by the entire nct, it’s sad. they’ve done so much for the brand yet the company never prioritizes their comfort.

THIS THIS THIS Mark is literally in EVERY unit with multiple difficult choreographies to memorize the only unit he isnt in is WayV but I’m almost 100% sure that if sm does make NCT Hollywood he’s gonna be in it or one of the main mentors for the trainees- not only that for the time he wasn’t with Dreamies he didn’t get as much time to work on Boom or Ridin’ plus and when he did join back in they had to rearrange some of the formations and lines to adapt Haechan is in 127 and this year participated in U as a main vocalist and there’s been times where unit promotions clash Whenever dream is missing a member they have to adapt U seems to be the least affected since it’s a rotating unit 127 and dream are fixed units and I’m not saying 127 doesn’t work hard or that the other members don’t because they all work extremely hard but it just seems like the Dreamies are always the most affected by lineup changes and schedule clashes

@@karizsthemuggle I guess SM never knew what to do with Dream (at the beginning). They were a solid unit and their concept was better received than 127's but because they were meant to have the growing up system it meant they were always supposed to be in flux and I guess SM finally realized that wouldn't work once Mark left and all the fans were still emotionally attached to 7Dream, calling for him to come back. That time period, in my opinion, was when SM really didn't know what to do so Dream was left having to adjust for 127 whom SM did have a plan for and were currently the ones SM was using to push their agenda to expand into America, which has been their goal for a long time. Boom was a success and Dream had their tour, but SM was still concentrating on America and they only had 127 to expand into America with so as a consequence 127 took priority in their eyes over Dream, who were performing to an audience in Asia where SM was already well established. It was kind of a stupid idea in my opinion but oh well SM will do what SM does and now all of NCT has gained so much attention which is great. But then SM finally got their shit together in 2020 and now everything's good..... (until NCT Hollywood...).

@@karizsthemuggle Yes we don't know but I'm optimistic. I feel like before Dream didn't have a future because SM didn't have a real solid long-term plan for them but now they do. Idk it's my hope that SM will continue spacing out their performances (with WayV as well to give Mark and Haechan enough time to rest). I do feel bad for Dream but again, I'm hopeful because I think SM is seeing the potential with Dream again, especially with the success of Hot Sauce and Hello Future. I guess only time will tell.

@@karizsthemuggle not only that, but sm often cut dream's promotion period short to adjust for 127's comeback. the most recent example is how reload era was ridiculously short because they wanted 127 to comeback with punch and so they snatched away haechan, and ofc we know reload never got a repackage. similarly, mfal was short to accommodate limitless, we young for cherry bomb, and GO for touch in 2018. plus, nct dream gets paid DUST for their music- reload was only 5 (not 6) tracks so disqualified for any awards; no full length album until 2021 even though both units debuted in 2016 and even wayv debuted in 2018 and got their full album earlier. 2019... only ONE mini album when normal kpop groups get at least 3 a year. it's absolutely infuriating to see nct dream CONSTANTLY be put on the backburner as the second priority, the unit that gets brought out once a year to appease dreamzens while 127 gets full albums and japanese promos and tv shows, the unit that's given crumbs and forced to cry onstage because the members themselves don't even know what their future will be. it's heartless to treat them this way. i really did like 127 but after years of mistreatment and even mockery from 127zens for our continued suffering and disappointment for our favorite unit, i just really can't muster up the energy to support 127 the way i used to. i can't stand for it until nct dream is treated AT LEAST the same as 127.

It's actually pretty impressive how Haechan instantly knows which part of the choreography needs to be danced during a particular verse of the song (cause they sometimes have different choreos for the same verses) despite having to memorize 127 and U choreos as well, add to that, he also knows the choreographies of OTHER GROUPS' songs. this is honestly just a testament to how good dream is and how much shit they get put through in comparison to the other units. after their debut, one of their members was out for over a year with a back injury. so they learned early on the importance of learning formations and being flexible with them. this is obvious when you look at scheduling conflicts between 127 and dream, mark's graduation, and both haechan and jisung's injuries. dream is always the unit changing formations due to absences and additions. we don't see big formation changes like this with 127 (with the exception of a few times) or WayV because they're fixed units. dream i suppose was always going to have to get used to this constant changing of formations due to their graduation system (though it is no longer being implemented). all of this to say, dream is consistently doing a fantastic job despite unideal circumstances and have been doing so since they were literal children and i hope sm starts focusing more resources on them.

But he graduated in dream for what? 2 years? not like the rest of the dreamies, mark didn't dance their choreos for 2 years which is why i think he lost the muscle memory.
