Random NAMM Jam! Country Guitar Insane Soloing with Daniel Donato and Grant Moody!

I hadn't met Grant prior to this jam. I had seen him on Instagram quite often. When John Snyder, Founder/Owner of Creation Music Company, introduced us -- I was absolutely excite to plug a Telecaster in and go to town. Grant, like me, has had a blue collar drive of progress throughout his career. He has mainly played in smaller venues, for little money, for long hours, at a rate of hundreds of times per year. And he is in his early 20's, too. We both absolutely had a thrill with this short jam.

I’m not a country guy at all. I’m a total minor pentatonic slut all the way. But I feel that(and this just like,my opinion man) .. the person that says they hate country music knows NOTHING about it. I mean (again opinion only) the country pop plastic GARBAGE out there has exactly as much credibility to me as ...I dunno Justin Bieber? The rock world has middle of the road,inoffensive,safe,over produced, driven by marketing crap all over the place. I feel like country has that same cross to bear. Having said that, these two are welcome in my record collection any time!!Older I get and( opinion again) the better my taste gets, there is room for country(real country) all day long.

dean mccaskill I was trolling earlier. And I agree with you, these guys are fantastic players! Great feel. People refer to modern country (borderline electric pop) when they say they “hate” it. Some classic country folk is real goooood. I’m slightly ignorant to the whole genre but I have an ear.

Even still, I miss watching Gatton playing with other guitarists and pretty much destroy them with his rhythm playing behind them soloing. I doubt his mastery is ever matched again. I love to watch Daniel tho in the way I like to watch Eric Johnson. It's just pristine and calculated music at it's best.

daniel has an impressive amount of Jerry magic in his fingers coming through in that 2nd jam, people copy his solos but its rare that someone can truly capture it in their improvising, he might do it better than anyone ive ever heard and I'm not sure if he's specifically going for that, but its really impressive

You can’t beat the single coil telecaster for this style of music. I love the twangy brightness of them; it makes them fun to play. Also, great job guys, loved the progressions. Very fun to watch.

When I was first working out Brent Mason's 'Hot Wired' years ago I came across a video of you playing it note for note and was amazed because you were younger than I was lol. Then a few months later my Mom (who worked in Rutgers Athletics) said that a woman she is friendly with at work has a grandson who is awesome at guitar and that I need to see this video... she proceeds to show me the video of you playing Hot Wired.
