Finally After years of rejecting player's opinions, suggestions and criticisms while also adding tons of unwanted broken changes nobody wanted just to milk even more money, it's all finally caught up to Gaijin. The last update they reversed was only the last straw, all of this review bombing will hopefully change the way the game is handled from now on and it'll greatly help if more youtubers like Nordern here cover this. *But do remember to explain in your reviews why we're doing this, so everybody knows*

i remember i was a big player of both war thunder and world of tanks at one point. there was a point where i practically gave up world of tanks in favor of war thunder but then they started nerfing credit gain, when it happened the first time it wasnt so bad. the second time was concerning but the third time i quit because without a premium account it simply wasnt possible to progress in the game. i lost faith in both games but for different reasons, war gaming refusing to balance armor because it was practically worthless due to the premium ammo i win button... and war thunder because the grind was attrocious. (i remember at one point the biggest selling point of war thunder was the more rewarding grind but they really killed that...)

A year or so ago, I had watched enough Mighty Jingles & Norden videos to think 'this game might be fun, I'll give it a go!'. I uninstalled it a few months later. While the gameplay was ok, I simply couldn't make heads or tails of the incredibly dense tech trees, or how to progress. Or, indeed, if I was EVEN progressing. And it didn't engage me enough to care about hunting down the information online. The final nail in the coffin was when I twigged to the vast amount of $ I'd have to spend to 'progress' in a timely fashion. Or at all! (It's the same reason I gave up on World of Warships, and I played that one for a couple of years without any real progress to show for it.) Yes, l get that FTP games have to make their money somehow, and that it usually involves some sort of subtle pay to win mechanic, to keep the hard-core fans and whales spending. I don't mind dropping my cash on something that's engaging me. But, it wasn't engaging me at all. It was confusing and irritating me, and subtly demanding I spend a lot of cash for no clearly defined gains. So I deleted it, and went back to watching others play it. IMHO, War Thunder is falling victim to the inevitable problem most older online games encounter; it's become too intimidating (and expensive) to new players. And now it seems that Gaijin has finally pushed its established community too far as well? Larger games have died for less. Good luck with the May 26th protest guys! I'll be watching with curiosity to see what the fallout will be... p.s.: Love your content, Norden! You, and that mad menagerie you've surrounded yourself with!!

Nothing much since the early beta days, the game hasn't felt like a game in a long while (like something that should feel fun rather than a second job). But otherwise, the recent "economic changes" caused a backlash (finally!), so bad so that they first reverted the changes but it seems they poked the sleeping fanbase a bit too hard this time. Although I hope this gets resolved in a good way and maybe make the game fun again, or more stable and enjoyable.

Gaijin being Gaijin is what you missed. They made some pretty substantial changes to economy recently, that made it absurdly hard to progress, and it was the straw that broke the collective camel's back. EDIT: Should add, their response to player outrage was to attempt to gaslight them by claiming their bullshit is normal and that players have no cause to be upset. They also had the audacity to whine about the change in reviews after they flushed the last bits of functional economy in the game down the toilet.

I’ve played since 2015, and I remember being able to progress as a mindless idiot on a laptop using and IGPU, it was not more than 2 years ago when I could get damn near 40K RP and 100k+ SL Off a good air rb match at top tier. Now if I carry and do amazingly well, 20k Rp for even more effort than before and 50k SL if I’m lucky. I’ve all but stopped grinding the American ground tree and only ground US air out because I can fly better than most others
