Ed McMahon used to say to Johnny Carson "as a child of four can plainly see" to exaggerate how obvious something was. Rush clearly was hoping that the president did not succeed in implementing his liberal legislative agenda. He was prescient about the impact of the president's policies on this country. Did anyone expect that this would finally be the time that central planning and Keynesian economics would work? Socialism has justifiably become a derisive term over the years and so the Obama administration denied having socialist intentions despite massive evidence to the contrary. The president would actually chuckle about being characterized as a socialist often coupling it to the birther issue which was for him the gift that kept on giving politically.

Bush lowered the taxes for the lower income earner by 33%. In other words, a family of four earning 50000 per year had their Federal income taxes reduced from the 15% bracket to the 10% bracket. In comparison, he stuck it to the rich by only giving them a 13% (39-34%) tax decrease as opposed to the 33% the lower earners got. Bush obviously wanted the less advantaged people to keep more of their money percentage wise. What did Obama do? he wanted to increase taxes 10% to 15% for the poor.

Then you must've also learned about the huge implementation lags and that in a recession, employment is always the first to drop and the last to go back up. People just need to be patient and not get mad just yet.

America has one of the highest corporate tax rates in the world. I know some corporations can afford it, but some cannot, without cutting jobs, benefits, or wages. Something has to give, and it is usually the workers and/or the consumers, in the end. How would cutting taxes on the wealthy (business owners) cause poor people to stay poor, exactly?

It's explicitly expressed in his Wealth of Nations that he felt naturally flowing capital, without the assistance of government, flowed to the most productive hands because the individual simply strives to better his own condition. Smith wasn't for corporations OVERSEAS (Britain) dictating what Americans should be growing/producing and then using that capital to profit.
