Thank you for taking the time to review this keyboard. My primary use case is work which is mainly software development, zoom calls, and general documentation, and communication through chat. For thIs, I think that this keyboard would be a good fit for users like me. What I love about this keyboard is that it has RGB lighting. I bought my first RGB keyboard (Razer Blackwidow Elite - Orange Switches) about 10 months ago, and when I was typing on the keyboard, the post on the M-key broke off. It is now not unusable, and shockingly it was not covered by the warranty, so until I find a good replacement, I am having to use an old Corsair k70 with Cherry MX Blue switches. I love it, but the keys are so loud, and I do at least five zoom calls a week with stakeholders, project managers, business analysts, and developers, and I don't like the loud, clicky sound when I am taking notes during the meeting. Although I have used nothing but mechanical keyboards for the past 5 years, I am not opposed to using a rubber-dome keyboard because they are quiet enough to not interrupt speakers when they are talking. But going back to the RGB, I really like the fact that this keyboard has the programmable RGB lighting feature. When I am on a call, I have programmed my pause button to mute my microphone, and when I am muted, the whole keyboard lights up red, and when it is unmuted, it is green. It is very important to know when I am muted and when I am not, so that I am not interrupting the meeting if I am having a side conversation. The only downside that I can think of with this keyboard is that I don't know if I would like to have a keyboard that might quit on me while I am doing a demo to 50 users. That would be terrible, and I am a little concerned that the battery would die, and I would have to scramble to find a backup which would look a little amateurish. I am going to look into other options, but I am considering giving this keyboard a shot. Thanks again for the video review.

Great review, and thank you for making me think about it a bit closer before buying. I personally prefer robber domes to the mechanicals ones but I can see why the majority of people prefer it the other way around. I love keys that give me plenty of feedback/resistance. For games I always map most keys, if not all, on the Num Pad side of the keyboard which is pretty unconventional. This increases the need for me to have high resistant at first, and with no resistance on follow through. Reds almost get there for me but not quite.

the rgb of the "F6" key came defective, it cannot illuminate some colors. When I put the keyboard in static mode with a single color, the "F6" key will most often be a different color from the others, due to this defect in its RGB led. (SOME COLORS THAT THE "F6" KEY CANNOT ACHIEVE: WHITE, YELLOW, PINK, ETC ..) There is a way to reset the keyboard settings. Can this problem be corrected?

Remember that the K57 is the first Wireless RGB keyboard. Sure there are some other ones out there but all of those are not even full. The fact that this is the first proper RGB wireless keyboard, puts it up there as one of the best keyboards out there. Also since this is the first proper RGB Wireless keyboard it makes sense for Corsair to come back to one of there older designs so that they have something to start with. Actually, the fact that they even added more technology to the keyboard is pretty impressive. So if I were to review this keyboard, I would definitely recommend it. And if you do buy it, in the future generations of Wireless RGB keyboards you can say that you bought the first one (once again, I mean that the other ones don't have the necessary keys to be qualified as an actual Wireless RGB keyboard). 😀 I also forgot to mention that the keyboard being membrane doesn't mean it's bad, actually membrane keyboards can be really good too, so the fact that it's not mechanical doesn't mean that it's bad so you shouldn't agree with one of the other comments because it's membrane because it fits more with the RGB lights. Actually when my birthday comes I'm definitely buying this keyboard unless they release another Wireless RGB keyboard.😎

When I build my new PC in June after almost 20 years console gaming, I needed to pick a Keyboard as well. I choose the K57 for the following reasons. As I work from home and had limited space this Keyboard combined both worlds. I have the USB cable connected to my PC and the Wireles in my work Lap-Top, as I have my PC on during work (Netflix/YT..etc), there is no space for two Keyboards. Also I don't like the noise of the Mechanical keyboards (reminds me of the earlie 90's Compaq or Dell Keyboards), I was looking for a kind of hybrid with exchanging Key's if needed. This Keyboard fits my needs perfectly and I love it, I paid €95, which is roughly $110.

I really like rubber dome switches. I have a heavier hand and the added resistance is nice. I've tried mechanical switches and I had quite a few misclicks. I would have liked to see this keyboard retail for more like 70-80 but they do go on sale pretty often. I got mine for 80 and I love it (though I also love the k55).

I have a K57, I'm typing on it right now at 12:02 A.M. It's hooked up through Bluetooth, lighting is on low (90% of the time Red), I can get approx. 100 hours or more out of it. I love it and think it suits me quite well. I've had it for approx. a year. It's great for a home PC/theatre set-up like I have and for entertainment. I've also gamed on it and I have no complaints what-so-ever. Bluetooth vs Slipstream doesn't seem to have any noticeable difference in latency and Bluetooth extends the battery life AMAZINGLY! I got it on Amazon for just over $70 w/ tax. A good purchase I must say! Paying anything over $80 for it is too far, I agree.

Just got this keyboard today, the only thing i really miss from my old K68 is the MX switches. The thing i dislike most about the K57 is not even the rubberdomes or the build quality, it's actually those macro keys. Macro keys on the left side of the keyboard annoys me so badly, gotta get used to that again. Overall, i actually like the K57 so far, i just wish it didn't have the damn macro keys and i would gladly pay an extra 20€ for it to be mechanical. Here, it's 66% more expensive than the K55, not sure if that can really be considered good value, but my only requirements for a new keyboard was wireless + backlit keys and for that, it is quite nice. Decided on this keyboard after getting their Harpoon wireless mouse, which i've been really happy with so far.

Thank you. I'm a fan of the K800 too, used for many years, but they are extremely fragile. Had 2 of them, a nasty fall and it's a lot of damage to it. Also, for using on the lap (as I do on the couch), in time it'll start to bend. Gave up on buying them. I'm looking at the Azio KB506W seems similar, and if it's fragile, at least it's cheap, lol.

@@lucapiombini4655 The thing is, there's way more switches than that, and you can get a custom board that has switches that are nearly silent. Zilents, for example, are extremely quiet and still tactile. I've heard lubed silent reds are good. Aliaz are also fairly quiet. And they generally last longer than rubber dome, on top of getting good feedback while typing.

I'm glad I saw this, I was about to buy a Logitech G915 but I was looking around because I have no experience with Logitech switches, my first mechanicals were Gahlil (sp) Brown in an Anne Pro 2, I don't dislike those but wanted to try Cherry MX either Red or White, I hear good things about both of those which is why I'm shopping around even though the Logitech is $60 off because they lost the Lightning USB receiver, which doesn't really matter to me as I would be using Bluetooth. I'm just a bit iffy because I've owned about 6 Logitech mouses (I hate saying mice for computer equipment, I've always said mouses to differentiate between animals and electronics. lol) but through the 2 MX Masters, the MX Master 2, the 2 Master MX 2s's and now I'm on a MX Master 3 I've seen a noticeable trend of them losing their left click life considerably over the years so have little faith in the durability of their keyboard switches, I know they're not close to the same things but still, I just feel Logitech getting cheaper all the time. I used to swear by Logitechs after leaving the MS Intellimouse pros buttons getting to low to the table, I do miss them, they were my first wireless mouses after using the wired Intellimouse with a ball until cleaning it did no more good, I used it to death, Unreal Tournament (The original) was hard on a mouse and by UT2004 I had my first Logitech MX Master, (I think it was that, Logitech anyway, first laser over plain optical, or vice versa. I'm old gimme a break, but long story short (I know, too late) I question Logitech's quality nowadays.

A 3 year old keyboard they made wireless and doubled the price on? And by now, when I'm watching this, it's 4 years old - and the price is INDIFFERENT. It hasn't changed in a year and it's STILL double the price of a 4 year old keyboard but the ONLY difference is Wireless? Fuck sakes Corsair, I've always loved you but shit like this is what's tearing us apart. Please stop abusing my wallet.

I just wish corsair would upgrade their wrist wrest. At least on their premium keyboards to something more like a Razer wrist wrest

I bought this keyboard and have since replaced it with something else. The wireless kept disconnecting on me and it feels very cheap. I’d suggest getting it on sale or looking elsewhere

My 2021 Opinions: Pros: Looks nice (I don't need a metal keyboard) Key Height: I like it - mid key height I don't mind using though I typically prefer low profile Key Feel: This is very subjective but I really like the slight feedback, quiet (not silent) keys Corsair came up with. Intuitive, crisp yet non-clicky soft feel. Battery Life: Great 2.4Ghz, Bluetooth and Wired modes! Cons: The G1 Macro Key often gets hit when I am reaching for escape. I have several PCs and I only use this keyboard on one of them so I will probably never stop hitting it on accident 100% of the time. I don't really use macro keys at all and I would rather just not have them, especially on a wireless model. So far I've had issues controlling the RGB through Bluetooth which is the intended connection type. Overall I feel this Keyboard in 2021 is a good quality keyboard that gives you alot for the price. I use it for my multimedia front room pc, which I also use for gaming from the sofa, or when a visitor is over. My older of two sons uses this pc / keyboard extensively when he is here (around half the week). My Profile: 38 yr old Second Career Grad Student, Heavy Power PC user, Gaming of all but the very latest. Not a brand-loyal fan-boy.
