I was wondering what features are really happening on the Insta360 link webcam, for example I configure the webcam via the software on my private pc, but want to use it on my work laptop ( which doesnt allow software installations) would the 3 noise cancelling still work? The autoframing? The face sharepning? The background replacement or blurring? Basicly I need a webcam that can do most of it on the webcam cpu instead of using computer cpu/software

Nobody ever talks about the fact that many of us do NOT want to EVER use the webcam's microphone. Is there a simple way to keep that turned off and inactive by default??? I have my professional mic that I would always prefer to use over any webcam mic. Also,...will having my mic set up right on the mic arm next to my mouth mess with the focus of the webcam or will it remain focused on my face in addition to the mic? Surely,..someone has used a mic on a mic arm with these webcams that can speak to this. Great video comparisons in this video and thank you for doing it!!! Nice work!!!

I'm so stuck on what to get as a camera. I just managed to find a very good deal on Vinted and ebay for a SM7B Microphone, so I won't need the speakers within the cameras. I was originally looking at ObsBot & Elgato but ObsBot wins it due to price and also that it has 4k but now you introduced me to the Insta360. I basically WFH & run my own design agency, so I take a lot of client calls and wanted a nice, sharp camera that can do a subtle background blur. Would you recommend the ObsBot or the 360? I don't stream etc, so it's purely for high quality calls.

I feel like this is the first video that addresses, what is to me OBVIOUS screen jitter when tracking on the Obscot. It looks like a software issue that could be fixed, but it's terrible when you compare these 2 cameras sides by side to me. I think it looks obvious in other "reviews", even though not mentioned at all. I would think this would be bigger issue in a TRACKING camera.

@@YuProducciones I don’t think so. I prefer simpler controls and a more natural image presentation. Maybe the Link 2 suits you better, but I’d choose the Tiny 2 Lite.

Something looks really bad with the Obsot to me. Very blurry in the center (in the mouth area) and it wasn't so much the warmth that was the difference but more so the very offputting blurriness. InstaLink wins by a country mile here.

I got the Link 2C myself recently as a semi-downgrade from my Razer Kyro Pro Ultra. Honestly it doesn't look too different especially with the virtual bokeh effect it looks quiet clean even in low light. The main thing I noticed is my pc lagging when I use the virtual effects and play a game at the same time, this is with a RTX4080 btw. So if you need the webcam while playing it only works without the filters right now. I am sure they can fix that in a software update though. In general I like the quality of the image a lot, but I adjusted it a bit. If anyone wants to copy my settings I simply changed contrast=35%, saturation=40%, sharpness=40%, HDR=on.

Your CPU is what handles your webcam. Also something to remember these webcams have chips in them to process the effects then they are sent to your CPU, some might be more powerful than others which could explain your problem. Just know it is NOT your GPU having anything to do with it. Look at your CPU. Depending on age and type, it might not be suited to handling more work that the old Razor was doing on its built in chip. Could also be a hardware issue, but it isn't the GPU.

@@coldlasagna It's literally the GPU because my whole PC is lagging when I play a graphic intense GAME. Literally the effect uses 35% of my GPU power and does not change anything on the CPU. It is literally the software doing the effect and not the hardware. Also idk how you would think I got a bad CPU with a flagship GPU.

Try using Nvidia Broadcast. thank me later :) it uses cores of your gpu that you dont need for gaming..maybe you like it so much as i do, and you also use nvidia broadcast to filter your mic

@@Related2BPM Thanks I just tried it out and that actually works with no lags but Nvidia only uses a simple background blur (which is pretty good) while Insta360 uses a bokeh effect that also calculates depth and adjusts the blur accordingly and it works even better than the Nvidia one. When I try to hold an object close the the camera the Nvidia effect blurs it completely while on Insta360 it's still readable. I will probably still use the Nvidia effect for now though and maybe insta360 fixes this in the future.

From what I could discern from the tests, the Tiny 2 Lite perhaps had slightly deeper audio depth, whilst the Link 2 has better visual fidelity and its auto-focus delay was much shorter. The Tiny 2 Lite uses a 45MP 1/2" 4K sensor, whereas the Link 2 does not specify what they use anywhere, but it is obviously superior. The Link 2's image stabilization is very, very good for the money, with practically no motion blur whatsoever. My only gripe with the Link 2 is them ditching its physical privacy shield. As for the Tiny 2 Lite, there are still a few software and functionality issues, which may make users prefer the other cameras.

Yes, you can. There's a setting in the software to turn on the desk view. It just mirrors the video. But you need to manually focus downwards.

Was the OBSBOT was recorded at 30 fps and the Insta360 at 60 fps. I found it difficult to watch the 30fps due to the blur.

@@cndjonno I didn’t really see the 60fps footage from Insta360. Honestly, Insta360 does look quite sharp at first glance, but I’m not a fan of its color tone. Considering the two are quite similar, I’d personally prefer to go with Obsbot.

I’ve had both. The insta 360 are both terrible, the AI is so buggy, you can’t use any extra long USB cables and the software is terrible. You cant even use it at 1080p 60fps right now. You also have to uninstall a windows security update for your pc to recognise it. Obs bot are far superior in every way

Please please please help answer if you can, as I've been looking into this for years and wasted money buying webcams that didn't work out. Do the portrait modes from either work natively on video conferencing platforms, like Google Meet, Teams, etc., where there might not be a rotate video setting? So that I can achieve mobile-friendly portrait orientation on video calls? I've already tried rotating through OBS but it becomes a black-barred video feed (so technically the video is still landscape but with the sides blacked out).

Why are the auto tracking webcams so horrible on color? No magenta green adjustment as the colors were awful in reality. At this time I did not like either camera and would rather have a fixed auto focus, auto tracking camera with better video. Both cameras suck at noise cancellation if you watch the video by GoTechGeek the razor from the C200 literally drops fast down to nearly inaudible while the Logitech Brio you could still hear it. Anker sure knows how to do noise cancellation. Both these cameras you could still hear the razor they have poor noise cancellation. I would like to see you add that razor test to your webcam reviews.

😡😡😡NOT HAPPY👎👎👎 So....I bought the Insta360 Link2 for my PC (HP Omen 15 Laptop, Intel i7, 16gig RAM, 512Gig SSD, and NVIDA 2060 RTX) and it is CRAP. There was no 60fps for any setting (4k/1080/720) and when you set it to 4k/30fps, the video recorded from the Insta360 Link Controller App was jittery like 12fps instead of 30. So...I thought...I'll upgrade the ram. I threw in 32gig of RAM and no real change; still jittery video and no 60fps in any other setting. I stopped the VPN, Antivirus, stopped nearly ever application and still jittery video. Finally I got a new 2TB SSD Card and had some area experts at Micro Center install a new image with Windows 11 on it. And...it improved...a little. Still jittery like 24fps video at 4k but when you turn on the AI effects for background blur (not the Bokeh)....it's jittery. And now...since the reinstall of Windows 11, the app doesn't have the right codec and won't play back any audio from the recording in the Link Controller software. BUT GUESS WHAT....if you upload the software and use this on a Macbook Pro M1, then you've got 4k 30fps/1080p 60fps and 720p 60fps with no jitter. Only problem is that I don't own a Macbook Pro M1 or M2. Additionally...on a Macbook, it records videos in a .mov file but on a Desktop...you're left with a .avi file...not .mp4 and there's no way to change it. So...I'm thinking of purchasing the OBSBOT Tiny 2 4k and doing my own side-by-side. And my several chats with Insta360 tech support?? Well...they couldn't help me so they've sent my problem to the developers.🙄🙄🙄💩💩💩

⁠@@danibee605 thank you and I’m still considering it. Although, I have the DJI pocket 3 you can use as a Webcam and it works fine in 4k and 1080p with no stutter so I think I’ll just use that. I wish it had 4k 60 although. I think it’s just time to upgrade the laptop! Maybe @RandomFrankP has a vs video about the Pocket ??🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

You don't need this. You can use a Google Pixel and I'm sure many other phones as webcams super easily, even Mirrorless cameras tend to be quite easy to get going.
