I think this is great! My first desktop was a Dell small form factor PC my work gave me a couple years ago. It had the best i5 processor of its time so it was a good workstation. I wanted to game with it and was on a budget. I bought the low profile GTX 750 TI at the time which worked great. I ended up loving PC gaming so much I made extra money to build a top of the line machine instead. These low profile cards are great for people who have small desktops that won't fit any standard card. It's much cheaper buying a low profile card than building a new computer. If your computer can hold a bigger card there is no reason to buy a LP. Get a bigger card for the better cooling.

For me it's a $30 difference. 1050 is $110 and 1050 Ti $140. However an additional $30 will get you an RX 470. Thats quite the jump for some people though. The 1050 Ti is more than adequate for budget builds.

Nice video :) Impressive fps in CS:GO but taking Nuke as a map for fps in this game is maybe even misleading for some. this map is literally the most demanding one, so you can expect even better performance on the most common maps such as dust2 or mirage.

PEOPLE WHO WANT THIS FOR CS:GO: CS:GO's source engine is old and it uses your CPU more than your GPU so take that into consideration. Also, he ran the test offline with bots and that WILL limit fps but only on the CPU side. That should not affect the performance of the graphics card but the CPU instead. With the setup he was using, expect to get around 240 FPS. I would say that anything above that is not needed. (coming from a guy that plays on the lowest to get more than 500) sry for the paragraph.

I bought the 1050 ti version of this card to stick in a pre-built HP with a 240W PSU, worked really well. I upgraded the CPU (motherboard, and RAM) in my main build and used the old parts along with a new low profile case with a built in 300W PSU to build a new computer for the 1050ti. I'm really impressed by the performance of this little card. Nvidia says this card is not VR ready put paired with my old i5 4690k you can do some VR with this little card although, given it's being pushed to its absolute limits.

It's like the 750ti. I still have one that I purchased for a HP Envy 700 that I used for work related stuff. Turned that mommy-daddy computer into a very decent rig, thanks to a 3.0GHz i5 and 12 gb or ram. It's nearly three years old and still running, even though that pc has been neglected and over used by my roommate. I love these budget cards. Nothing compared to my main gaming rig, but it certainly kills PS3's and 360's, and I dare to say it gets close to PS4 and Xbox One performance. Great buy for those who don't have a gaming rig but have a decent brand computer lying around at home and want to experience the glorious PC gaming world for the first time.

For csgo it's optimal to have 250 fps at least as it gives the player more control and makes you more precise, I turn down my settings on csgo on my gtx 1070 i7 6700 build just for an extra 300 fps because it makes me play better.

Why do you keep saying "excelllent 1050 ti"? its barely faster than a 1050, and can be just as expensive as a 470 (sometimes more here in the US) which is in a totally different class in terms of compute power. In my, and many others over at r/buildapc, the 1050 ti is a waste of money, given the small performance gain over the 1050 and awkward pricing.

I think these $90-$130 cards like the rx-460 and 1050 are great for throwing into someone's exsiting machine that doesn't already have dedicated graphics cards. Perfect use-case scenario in my head would be a young cousin, nephew or niece trying to use the family's 6 year old dell desktop. This could push it a bit further especially in gpu intensive games.

this is a great card. I love mine. I also just bought the ti version and the rx460 version to test all 3 together. these are for building super small computers so if you don't need the low profile I recommend the regular sized cards.

This GPU would be perfect for LAN parties and small form factor living room PC's. I think it would be great if pair with an i5 6500 or a Kaby Lake Pentium since an i3 is kind of a waste of money vs a Kaby Lake Pentium. Just my two scents though. You could use it with the SilverStone mini 300 watt PSU and that would make a fantastic budget gaming PC for a mini-itx system. I think this could even be paired with a Pico PSU or something like that. Great stuff!!

For CSGO benchmarks I would highly recommend using the FPS Benchmark map by Ulletical as it helps plenty with consistency, and since having bots cripples your FPS by a massive margin if you host the server on the same PC you'll be playing in.

When you test fps in CS:GO turn on the net graph by typing "net_graph 1" in console, so we could see the exact frame rates all through the gameplay.

I played through Watch_Dogs 2 on max settings (except for some, which were one step below max) with a 970 at a stable 50 fps average without any major drop except for some while speeding in the water (that damn water looks so good, but it just kills fps sometimes). It was pretty bad at first, but after I updated my GPU drivers to the Watch_Dogs optimized version as soon as it was released the performance increase was phenomenal
