Verdict: Absolutely not worth buying. For around the same price or less your can get an NVIDIA GTS 450, which is a very powerful GPU for the money. It is powerful enough to get a consistient 30FPS on Crysis 3(minimum is like 27 or so) and you can get it for like $30.

the GT 730 is considered really weak, it can't even get consistent 30FPS on Fallout 4 on 720p at lowest settings. get a GTS 450 or GTX 460 instead, you can get one off of eBay for ~$40 in the US.

Crimson-fox Twitch if you look on the internet for like half an hour you can get a hd7850 for about 40-50 euro. I bought 2. underclocked one to 500 megahertz and put it in my passive htpc. the other one is overclocked to 980 and is running in my sisters system who sometimes plays gtaV at low-ish (some a bit higher) at 60fps with vsync, I honestly think it is an amazing card for the money

I Overclocked the HD6450 (What thie R3 230 Is) and Really it varies on Game, in some games it was the difference between 20 to 30Fps, Really the lack of fan Limits you, and for me the 512Mb of VRAM were a real constraint.

RAMDRIVEsys well, it did speed up when cleaned of all the dust around it, but ok, theoretically it's about 2 Ghz, but practically not that much, my 600Mhz phone runs about as well as that computer... maybe it's ram (~2Gb, unbalanced), but now that it's clean it's just slow startup and almost ok once it gets running... probably just because it's the old HDD + not much ram...too bad it's not mine so I can't swap the drive or anything...

I have the R5 220 1GB, it is pretty good. It runs really well on CS:GO, Minecraft, and watching KZbin. It was a huge step up from my really, like really old, Radeon HD graphics. Then I got a GTX 1070, I'm planning on building a PC for my little brother so he can play minecraft and/or CS:GO

no, not at all, thats the kind of processor you should pair this GPU with this kinda gpu is good for the old athlon's pre 2008 and core2duos from the same era anything more powerful would definitely be bottlenecked i tried pairing a 750ti with my core2duo e6700 and there was still a noticeable gap, going down to a GT 710 was where the bottleneck ended

When the R5 240 came out it was the "best friend" of the AMD A6/A8/A10 integrated APU series. Not sure if the 230 can do the same but the idea was that an dedicated GPU+APU would give you good performance. On its own, well yeah even the 240 wasn't that much.

If you are testing CS:GO you can turn the resolution down as far as you can. Most of the pros don't even play at 1080p. Some are playing with resolutions as low as 800:600.

Well for home theatre I got a Radeon HD 5450 for $5 that looks like exactly the same as this one. Yes it is silient, but even 1080p youtube video/Netflix brings the temps up to 70C! So I added a low power low noise fan in and blow directly onto the heatsink and now settled at 50C. For $40, you can almost get a second handed GT 730 which is much less of a bottleneck! (though more performance is still sort of desired)

Its a six year old gpu(hd6450) and it doesn't even have new drivers, so you can't expect much. I used to have an HD 5450 and from what i remember, it wasn't that bad, Warthunder, WoT and MW2 were playable.

Even for a HTPC it is not worth buying because the IGP/APU handle that tasks as well, an almost every new motherboard has a HDMI out, and if you have an older one a HD 5450 or gt 710 get the job done for around 25 € ($26,62)

Doesn't the R5 230 (and the original HD 6450) have 160 Stream Procesoors? I'm pretty sure they do. HD 5450 is the GPU with only 80SPs.

Intel iris pro integrated graphics can outperform this card. When building a budget card, even the Intel Pentium G4560 itself (an $80 CPU) outperforms the R5 230 with Intel HD Graphics 610 onboard the CPU.

I think you should also use skyrim for your tests; its overall not too demanding, but its still a pretty good game to base off an opinion. I know you have previously used it before, being that I am a big fan, but I saw that you stopped using it so I decided to maybe suggest you to keep on utilizing it
