That's not bad for people that have a lga1151/300-series board and maybe they want to upgrade beyond an i3 or i5-8400. But Yeah, my issue with the lga1151/300 platform is a 9900k is so damned expensive, but a i7-10700k can be found for a decent amount cheaper and lga1200 boards are close to the same price as lga1151/300-series boards. Really, I can't see these Intel platforms being viable anyway because I can usually find a brand new Ryzen 7 5700x for a bit cheaper than a used Core i7-10700k. Although, sometimes you can find lga1200 motherboard and processors for really low prices if you're at the right place at the right time. I bought a Core i9-10850k for $180 back in November. But the 10850k for $180 being a good deal is also debatable because I've seen used Ryzen 9 5900x processors going for $200.

@@korchevatel Some 8th and 9th gen motherboards have native rebar support.
@ABaumstumpf13 күн бұрын
If ReBar is not enabled for your 9600K then it does not matter what CPU you use: that already has Rebar. The problem is that motherboards and UEFI needs to enable that feature. Even Haswell (intel 4xxx CPUs) supports that feature but good luck finding any MoBo even for Coffeelake that enables it.

I upgraded for my friend from a 9400F. He can't afford for the i7 8700 nor 8700K Got the CPU for him at $60, sell the 9400F for $35 He can't be more happy. Game such as The Finals demolish CPU, and he went from unplayable to 70 80 FPS with a GTX 1060

Asking this takes me back to 2015 when I was clueless about PCs but would this chip work on *any* LGA 1151 board? Will it boot on an h110 motherboard?
@jlmpc87336 күн бұрын
Some sources say its unlocked tho. did you try it?

This is the cpu is for modding a Z170 board BIOS to allow Coffelake, and have 8core for win7 with legal mobo driver support without being AMD or HEDT.

Seems like it'd be a dream for servers.

I currently have an i5 8400 and I would like to give it a small upgrade without changing the motherboard, which is a z390, what CPU do you recommend? I forgot to say I have a gtx 1660 and another 1070

What are the chances this will work on a Dell 7470 AIO? was thinking about upgrading my 9500 to a 9900 but it costs quite a bit. Edit: nvm - thats a 95 watt chip. I am hoping to move to a 65 watt or lower chip with more performance

I think its a great CPU to be fair...maxed out your 4060 so that has to count for something...and it runs so cool

z370 motherbords with clock generator. 105-107 Fsb. 3.5x105=3675 (+175mhz); 3.5x107=3745 (+245mhz). It's not worth it because the CPU frequency is too low.
