Al said this about Savage's appearance: He was great. Actually, he almost bailed out on us at one point - after agreeing to do the show, his manager called up to cancel his appearance, saying that Randy was having second thoughts. I called up Randy personally to see what the problem was. Randy told me that he didn't think it was good for his "Machoman" image to get beaten up by Harvey the Wonder Hamster. I told him as reassuringly as I could that I seriously didn't think his fans would really believe that he got his butt kicked by a hamster. After a bit of cajoling, he agreed once again to be on the show. At the end of the conversation, he asked, dead-serious: "Uh… by the way, it's not a girl hamster, is it?" I said no, Harvey was a manly, manly hamster all the way. Randy came on the show the next week and was a terrific sport.
