Emily- with AM filing the alibi (Nov 2022) in this case, wouldn’t that cover the State’s statement about “never hearing” his last story? I have followed this trail from start to finish. I think it was very hard for Alex to remember times when he did not live a life followed by time. But my real thoughts of this whole trail is the way the Corner handled the time of death. It was not handled properly, and they had proof on the witnesses stand of that. So they do not even have the time of death correct. I believe the murders could have happened as soon as Alex cranked his truck to go to his mothers. This is all my opinion but I started to think differently when the other experts gave proof of how the time of death's should have been proved. They even tested gun shot noise from the kennels to the house. They found know one in the house could not here them. In my opinion I do not believe he pulled the trigger. I know opinions are like buttholes everyone has one. 😁

About Alex's brother's testimony: I believed most of Randy's statement about Alex is not telling all he knows. John Marvin on the other hand was being deceptive about having no idea about Alex's pill popping proclivities. Alex, John, Buster and Paul came in to a convenience on a Sunday afternoon early 2012. Alex was absolutely manic, slapping the countertops and demanding service ahead of the other customers. He was loud and beyond happy, almost laughing at himself. John, Marvin stood by, silent and disengaged. Buster stood at a short distance and was aware of the behavior by the expression on his face while Paul wandered towards an aisle, feigning interest in the potato chips. This went on for about ten minutes or so until they were given their sandwich order. At the time, I had no idea who he was, nor did I care, until the murders when I saw his and Paul's pictures. The reason I remembered the encounter was because I was working behind the counter and had a .44 revolver pointed at him under the counter during the first several minutes. There is no way anyone could convince me that John Marvin "had no idea" his brother had a drug problem which leads me to believe there are many more truths to be had.

When I served as a juror in a very high profile murder and drug case years ago, our names and faces were public record. A picture of the jury was published in the local newspaper and our names were public record. We were sequestered 24/7 but someone found out where our hotel and rooms were. Midway during the trial, our jury was threatened with being killed. Someone wrote the threat "we are going to kill you" on the window of one of our rooms. At that point, the local sheriff started patrolling the neighborhoods where the jurors lived. My husband started sleeping with a gun next to the bed. For that reason alone, I decided not to talk to the media or attend the sentencing. Surprisingly, none of the other jurors talked to the media either.

In Alex's case, he opened up a biz bank account under the name "Forge" and there is a fairy well known , legitimate company called Forge that actually handles lawsuit settlement payouts, often between an insurance company and plaintiffs and their counsel. So, when the insurance company was instructed to send Alex's law firm the settlement checks made out to "Forge", it didn't raise any eyebrows whatsoever. Alex proceeded to deposit those checks into the Forge account he opened at Palmetto bank and from there, he had total control of the money. The reason he was able to open an account under the biz name "Forge" with him as the authorized user was because, of course, he was buddies with a member o the Palmetto Bank's Board and didn't require Alex to present the proper state LLC paperwork and simply opened the account. I do not know if the Board member was in on things or received financial compensation from Alec. This is why he was able to steal so many settlements from cases without the law firm accounting being alerted. As far as they knew, the settlements had not yet happened because they didn't receive any checks for them. The only reason he was caught was when he tried to coerce Jeanie, the firm's CFO, into helping him hide assets from Mallory's family. Had Alex not claimed to be broke and paid the settlement amount to the attorney representing Mallory's family, he may not have ever been caught.

PMPED made more money than it could keep track of. Hampton is one of the poorest counties in the country, yet right in the town of a few hundred people is a giant law firm with millionaire partners. Tort reform organizations have called Hampton a "judicial hellhole." South Carolina law permits both "forum shopping" and "13th Juror" exceptions to judgments. You can be sued for millions in a South Carolina courthouse for damages that occurred in California, and if the judge doesn't personally like the verdict he or she can overturn or modify it at will. It's a safe bet that the Hampton courthouse hears almost no cases arising locally.... since Hampton juries are known to award huge monetary damages, it's a favorite place for state attorneys to file. Just ask Virginia-based CSX railroad. Walmart refused to even open a store in Hampton - the people are poor because there are no jobs... it's a civil risk just to do business there, so job producing companies pass the place by. Forbes magazine even did a full-sized article on Hampton a few years back about the town, PMPED and South Carolina's laws. Interesting reading that is available free on the web. My take is that there are no heroes there.

@shannap.lawnerd125 Жыл бұрын
Ok, I totally understand that perspective, & YES, someone probably noticed fkery before June 7, 2021… However, we have seen that so many outside agencies (Palmetto bank, Lafitte himself, Mr. Parker of PMPED, Chris’s Fleming/Wilson, etc) were entangled in the money grabbing &/or shady lending going on here. If the fees that Jeanne knew were supposed to be deposited WERE, it might not have been easily apparent if the lawyers were taking any further funds. When we see that AM was able to divert money straight into his “fake Forge”, we know that Jeanne wouldn’t have seen anything until he put his required fees amount into the firm’s trust account. I’m sure there have been shady money things going on there for as long as they have been open…but I’m not sure how many of the support staff (paralegals, financial clerks, etc) would have been able- or willing- to speak up to such an intimidating supervisory staff. I might be too optimistic here, granted, but I’m hoping that these people- who helped PMPED become the powerhouse it is- were doing so with pure intentions & an attitude of helping the people they were representing. 🤷🏻♀️🍀⚖️🤓 Stay safe out there, be blessed.

I sure Don’t think it was wrong to let it in or that it should be grounds for appeal. I really don’t see how an attorney could agree to defend an obvious murderer. I was just worrying about what lame excuse the defense could come up with for appeal.

I do have a couple of misgivings here. Up to right now I’ve been convinced of Alexa guilt. However, is it difficult to imagine that someone or 2, whatever, with a vendetta against Paul could also be able to tell from social media that Paul was down at the kennels and it was dark? Is it hard to imagine this same person could have gone there and stolen the guns earlier when no one was home? If this person knew Paul was at the kennels based on his social media at the time, couldn’t that person have turned up there to carry out the act, not caring whether Maggie and Alex might be there too? They would just have been collateral damage. Alex might have left a bit after 845 like he said, and narrowly escaped being shot as well purely coincidentally. It’s not hard to imagine then that the reasons Maggie and Paul’s phones should no activity around that time is because they were being attacked straight after Alex had left, and therefore they weren’t touching their phones. I think it could possibly have been someone that Paul knew, and that person could see via social media that Paul was at the kennels. Food for thought 💭 ??

It's easy to believe that Paul was 'driving' the boat because it was his. They also said in the Netflix doc that he kept walking away from the wheel. I'd say he had care & control of the boat even if he wasn't actually in control because of his level of intoxication. He is still responsible. Reaching over to straighten the wheel doesn't make that person responsible for any crash or consequences.
@MyOveralls74 Жыл бұрын
The kids in the boat were immediately yelling at Paul at the scene of the accident. I’ve no doubt he was driving.
@avamyst70 Жыл бұрын
I see what you're saying, but Connor, who was the one switching controls with Paul, was also very drunk.
@EmeraldEyes3713 Жыл бұрын
@@avamyst70 Yes, but the boat was not Connor’s boat. Even if he were driving it at the time of the crash, he was only doing so because his friend, the driver, was belligerently drunk and assaulting people, and it is his friend’s boat. Paul bears responsibility for being belligerently drunk and unable to operate his own boat. And based on what Connor’s injuries were as a result of the crash, he wouldn’t have been driving, or the wheel and windshield would have broken his fall and kept him from running his face into the side of the boat.
@xsullengirlx Жыл бұрын
That, and the crime scene reconstruction of the people in the boat and their subsequent injuries go to show where they were most likely located when the boat crashed. It's pretty obvious Paul was driving, and all of his friends were pissed at him from the get go for being so adamant about it even while drunk. His friend did try to help, but couldn't even fully take over driving because Paul would push him out of there. It just all points to Paul being the one responsible and I believe they would have proved that in court.
@Remmysage Жыл бұрын
I do think it is telling that they knew how he was and still chose to drink and get on a boat with him. Not that anyone deserves to die or that anyone would imagine they’d get killed from it, there is some responsibility in everyone on that boat for drinking and going on a boat with everyone. If they knew Paul was like that then they shouldn’t have every drank and got on the boat with him. Just saying, you can’t be drinking and be on a boat with someone who gets belligerently drunk and expect that something bad isn’t going to come out of it. Not taking away from anything that Paul did and yes he was completely in the wrong but those kids chose to get on a boat with him and knew the risks of it and still made the choice to get on the boat with him. Hopefully it’s a lesson learned for other people that only you can chose to put yourself in a position to get killed that way.

I had the feeling that Maggie's sister was leaving some things unsaid. And I wondered about Maggie not wanting to go out there that night, and her telling Maggie she should go...that was so she could go see his mom or dad with him, but she did not go. But Alex never said why she didn't go. It just didn't make sense. And I had actually wondered if Maggie was leaving him and sister knew. And she didn't think Alex knew. It would have been hard for Maggie to see a divorce lawyer and Alex not know. And her family may have stayed close to Alex after murder so he possibly wouldn't have found out. I know that's a lot of assumptions. But in these circles, a divorce wouldn't just be taboo in Alex's family. So her family was protecting Maggie and themselves as well.

I agree with you. AM is so inured to what is abnormal that *abnormal* IS his "normal." He's become so accustomed to moving with ease within his hall of mirrors that he's completely unbothered with the mental/emotional "gear shifting" that this requires. You can hear this in his conversations with Buster when Alex is in jail. He is intent on Buster getting back into law school and focused on the machinations that that would require. The fact that the boy's mother and brother were brutally murdered--and that that would be weighing on the son doesn't seem to register in any normal way with Alex during those conversations. I think Alex has become very accustomed to, and comfortable with, the "shape-shifting" required to *present* as a decent good ol' boy while in fact being very, very malignant.

I don’t think it was a very normal day for Alex, tbh. He was called out, for the first time, on stealing from the firm in the decade he had been stealing. (Which, I still don’t understand how he was able to get away with it for so long. Like…did they have accountants?) He had been caught trying to transfer funds/hide money from Tinsley, in regards to the Beach suit. He had just been told his father was going to die. Paul had his trial approaching in just a few days. And who knows what all else was happening in Alex’s life at the moment. But everything was crashing down on top of him.

I am convinced that this whole case only began unraveling. In this small community and such close nit family there’s no chance Alex could’ve kept such secrets for so long. There must be few people who know it but in my opinion I think that a number of people down the line were milking this entire family. Now everyone is at it. Even the nail technician is sharing her story about Maggi under the pretence of not letting Maggi to be forgotten. Paul did drive the boat and he was absolutely of order but those other kids were more then aware of his state. Now they are all perfect, responsible and all are blaming a dead man who can’t defend. For me each and every one of them has a part to play. That gang milked Paul for years and that’s why he was getting away with so much. Also, Maggi was a lousy month, didn’t like Paul and publicly was expecting her irritability with him. Gloria took care of Paul most of his life and was the only person that he loved and supported him. Paul was the one who discovered pills. He was treated like an outcast which lead to his negative attention speaking behaviour. Even after the boat accident Paul continued to drink, drive under the influence, get arrested and so on. Check out Hidden True Crime. Dr John Mathews I think. It’s a couple and he’s very good, forensic psychologis. In my humble opinion one of the best analysis of Murdaugh case. Murdaugh filed a Notice of Alibi Defense on November 17 stating he "was not present at the time, place, and date of the murders. . ." The Judge pointed this out during sentencing. Seems like as of November 2022 he wasn't "trying to tell you, [but y'all wouldn't take my calls]." And if he was really "trying to tell you" then he could have had his attorneys give the prosecution this bit of information. His saying he "tried to tell you, but y'all wouldn't take my calls" on the stand was yet ANOTHER lie; he sounded like a 10 year old child that got caught the way he pointed to anything and everything to save his own ass.

At first seeing John Marvin testify feeling the grief and sympathy that I thought he had for Paul. But after watching the documentary they filmed he not only days later was seen taking guns from the Mossell property but he also was the one that removed the boat from the seen the next day after the crash. I think he is sus .. it is all is still sus!

Ok, that drone footage was taken September 13, 2021, per the photographer; about a week after the roadside incident. I had to ask after I saw it everywhere!! This would have been when it had been publicly stated that AM was in a rehab in Florida- so I can understand the family removing valuable stuff from an empty house. After the boat crash- I wouldn’t have let my boat get hauled away either, but I also would NEVER have let my kids take it out to party, especially after dark when it had NO LIGHTS. 🤨🤷🏻♀️ One more thing: many people don’t realize that after a horrific incident, whether a violent crime, suicide, accident, etc, the police DO NOT clean up the scene. After they are done with the initial investigation, take all the samples/pics, etc etc…they just LEAVE. It’s horrible, & usually just one more terrible thing for the family after a long few days of terrible things. (Yes, I personally know.) If JMM was told that SLED was done there for now, I understand why he would want to help clean up the horrific remnants of this tragic incident. Stay safe out there, be blessed.
