Shows you how fantastic a person can be without worship of a deity. Wonderful man, wonderful legacy. All the best to his family. Glad we have YT so that we all can share this man's greatness. Live life to the fullest, follow your childhood dreams, because you only have one life to live, then you are history. It's always nice to leave this life having impacted so many people in a positive way. One of my favourite atheists is gone but we can celebrate having known him in some way.

How ironic I came across this guy the day I had the most poignant feeling, "I am going to die". What I don't get from him is the awe and wonder of coming face to face with and confronting one's inevitable encounter with the singularity, the transition into the other dimension, or nothingness. Both equally amazing. Why is this here now? We are all dying. In some ways we are already dead.

I have experienced the passion for life of a terminally ill person and through this experience can atest that no one who is in this situation is more aware, some just play the hand differently than others. You've kind of shown your hand.

Redskins2k, some of what you say is very true. People do fear God less and less, but in the case of this man, no one is worshipping him, no one is bowing at his feet and offering sacrifice or the like. He gave an inspirational speech of how people can make their lives simpler and more fulfilling by looking at things in a different way. His lecture was very helpful to alot of people, millions to be exact. I believe in God, as do many, many, people. But dont try to shove it down thier throats.

He also left behind a message which is so true and so profound that MILLIONS have decided to listen to it over and over, pass it on and accept it for themselves. While I respect the right of individuals to their own beliefs and thoughts, and their freedom to voice it, this is not the place. Furthermore, those selfish individuals are only demonstrating their very small stature and mean spirits because we compare them invariably to Randy Pausch. May he rest in peace.

No matter how much you achieve no matter how much you earn. And no matter how much you become "successful" in life. Death multiplies everything by zero. All that remains is the good we do to the creatures around us. One should strike a balance between ones wants and ones duties as a human being. It is death that finally convinced Randy to convince others. If it was not for death. man would be a want hungry animal. May God bless him in the next life.

people like glocker9999 are the reason so many bad things happen in the world. why can't people look at a great man like Pausch for who he is, and for what his legacy to many people is? it takes a brave man, a determined man, and a true man to stand up and talk about life during the face of his own death. people who listen to what Pausch says are people who can look up at the sky and believe that they can do anything. for some people, this may not be true, but for others, Pausch is an idol.

Amazing the hatred in this world... the have nots will always be bitter toward the haves... In the end, their hatred is self defeating. They have never accomplished a thing nor do they go out of their way to help others.. they simply bash others accomplishments and spew their venom. Pathetic really. God Bless Randy and his family. A great man who accomplished great things.

The point is..unless you spoke to this man & he told you he wasn't "born again" how do you know where he stands?? It's judging comments like yours that turn people off. You think that if someone isn't ranting openly about Jesus they are not "Christians". I'm so glad that God does the judging & not radicals like yourself. Some Christians feel that it is a personal relationship& DO share the message without putting themselves up on a pedestal or crushing others spirits in the process.
@Gaia477
@Gaia477 16 жыл бұрын
To all of the proselytizing, self-professed "Christians" who have posted criticisms: SHAME ON YOU! You are NOT Christians. Christ would be heartbroken at the vileness that you have spewed forth on this message board. Before you declare yourselves His messengers, give this man the respect, admiration and compassion he is due. The life he led is a reflection of Christ's message of love and goodness. You would do yourself and the rest of humanity a great service to follow his example.

Marianne762 after reading your comments, I hope you are happy with yourself. Dr. Paul was not looking to find fans as you mentioned neither to explain what it is happiness. He just shared how the way we think can influence the output of our live. From which he decided to enjoy his life regardless of his condition. Instead of complaining like you and be a bitter person within yourself and others. Please think before you write another bad comment. Just enjoy your life and respect others

glocker9999- yes maybe you hate Pausch for your own little reason, but what he has done in life and what he gave to others before he died was much greater than whatever it is you hated. no i do not worship this guy, but i have much respect for him for what he did before he died, and that's all. his speech gives comfort and confidence to others, and no matter what he did/is that caused you to say he goes to hell and his wife and kids go to hell, he was a good person. and leave his family out.
