Your attention to detail is second to none! There are so many shoty ass shops around. Its nice to see how it supposed to be done!
@ThePaintPaperHustle3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I mean there’s still better ways to do it. Like technically most would want to just hang new quarter panels on it instead of using body filler. And then a lot would use like glue pulls instead of through bolting like I do. It is a race car though and no need in wasting a ton of money on something that looks close to the same in the end anyways. But even doing it this way I still try to play attention to detail and make it look good.

There's two metal brackets that go in the end of that bumper on each side that have studs welding in them or pressed in them and it keeps the end of the bumper straight #LRS-17835C-BK
@ThePaintPaperHustle3 жыл бұрын
Man I had a feeling there was suppose to be something there. It didn’t seem right that a manufacturer would do a through bolt. That still can’t be fun having to work down in them pockets. The nutserts now make it super easy. I wouldn’t mind finding them brackets and modifying them though by removing the studs and just using them for support.
@13Muddin3 жыл бұрын
I re-edited my post and I put the part number at the bottom you could make a piece of metal and just use them bolts after you look at the part. #LRS-17835C-BK

Those chief ez liners are some great machines for front or rear work, I wore my knees out on one of those for years. I think they do make a model with an extra tower for full 360* pulls. Really good machines and about the only machine you can have 3 towers in a tight vicinity for multiple simultaneous pulls.

Not being critical, I’m genuinely curious. With all the other damage to the quarters, wouldn’t it have been faster and less labor to replace the quarters and the tail light panel?
@ThePaintPaperHustle3 жыл бұрын
Not faster. It would of been a better job though. We did talk about it and were very close to doing it but decided it just wasn’t worth the time. With it being a race car it could go back out and smack the wall again so if you can sling some mud and make it look good then roll with it. Hopefully it doesn’t but if it does hit a wall again it will be getting a whole new back half. Also these are already stretched out to clear tires and such so if you did hang quarters you’d then also have to stretch them out at the wheel well and roll all the inner lips again. But I want people to understand that hanging quarters is a better way than mudding them however this fit the situation better than new quarters this time. Thanks a ton for watching and for the question.

@@ThePaintPaperHustle fair enough. Its always easy to armchair quarterback when watching a video. I truly wasn’t being critical of your work by any means and hope I didn’t come across that way. As a shop owner I fully understand that sometimes the customer and situation dictate the chosen method of attack.

@@southmountainautomotive5919 yea no harm done. The owner of the car is a body shop manager so he also understands the situation.
