Randy Wicker, gay activist since 1958, describes his landmark accomplishment of securing homosexuals the right to be heard on the airways in 1962. He also participated in the "Sip-in" in1966 at Julius Bar in Greenwich Village that, like "Sit-ins" by Blacks at lunch counters in the South, secured the right to public accommodation for homosexuals & legalized gays gathering in bars.
However, before commencing his address, he launched into an impromptu "Public Announcement" about "Wheelchair Liberation".
In closing, he describes launching "his last campaign" (at age 85) to have the statue of General Sheridan removed from the NYC Park opposite the Stonewall Bar (better known as Stonewall National Monument) because of General Sheridan's genocidal of Native Americans, where many tribes recognized gender non-conforming members as Two-Spirit people harboring both a female spirit and male spirit, who were often honored as Shamans with special powers and wisdom.
