truth not myth If you are gay or know someone who is, this is important information! Sexual orientation is determined in the womb during fetus development. Various hormones are introduced at specific times to accomplish this .The fetus plays no part in this process. A person is, therefore, born with a predetermined attraction. It is, therefore, not a choice & consequently not a sin & not immoral. It is a natural expression of our species & found commonplace in nature. Intelligent research in this area clearly explains this process. If you are truly interested in truth, based on knowledge, the book Gay, Straight & the Reason Why by Dr. Simon Levay shows this with numerous research articles. If you want to understand the truth & have respect for yourself & others, that you are entitled to, this book will help. It also has, unlike the bible written over 2000 years ago by men that had no understanding of science, an extensive bibliography. I strongly recommend the book. The public must be exposed to facts & knowledge. It is an obligation for those who know the truth & must defend it. Don’t let the religious pull you down to their level of ignorance. Peace

+pqxxedf I'm a bit confused about what exactly you are arguing here. Reproduction has nothing to do with marriage, you can fuck anyone you want any time you want if the person is over 18 and willing, so procreation has nothing to do with marriage at all. As far as love goes? Plenty of heterosexuals are married and hate their relationship, often times heterosexual couples don't have children as well, so are they as useless as gay marriages? Should a marriage be required to show results (children) within X number of years or be revoked? Marriage is about paperwork, that's what it boils down to. Gay marriage is about the right to have your GAY SPOUSE visit you in the hospital after a car accident, to decide if the life support should be pulled, to decide who gets the house after the one spouse is dead, to decide if one or the other's insurance will cover the other spouse. Before you say something completely false about spousal insurance coverage for heterosexuals, just remember the couples who don't have kids. Do they get coverage? And if so, WHY? According to you they shouldn't.

But, still, the USA the most free country in the world. Except, of course, when you are gay and happen to be in the military. Then it is don't ask, don't tell. But still, the USA the most free country in the world. Except, of course, when you are poor and standing in court. Then the rich are more free than you. But, hey, capitalism. But still, the USA the most free country of the world. Except, of course, when you cannot afford the US health care system. Then you have the choice of eternal debts or die. But still, the USA the most free country in the world. Except, of course, for paid sick leave. Such a socialist right is practiced only in, for example, communist Scandanavian countries. And we all know how bad it is over there. But still, the USA the most free country in the world. Except, of course, when it comes to paid hollidays. Another communist example. Why get 25 paid holliday days a year when you can work all year around for your boss. I mean you live to work anyway, or don't you? But still, the USA the most free country of the world. Except, of course, when it comes to getting fired at your job because your boss doesn't like what you do in your private life with your sexual orientation. But that is only because your boss feels responsible for maintaining and dictating his own moral "feelings". After all, feelings are important.

A valid point in the gay wedding case was missed. They placed the order months prior, the company agreed, took their deposit, then on THE day of delivery, decided that they couldn’t. The case garnered a lot of media attention focusing on the lesbian couple and the religious freedom rights of the business owner. But that wasn’t the issue. The business had months to cancel the order for any reason, there are no laws stating that a business must serve you, save emergency medical care. The case was won on the contract issue, order placed, deposit received, contract not honored, verdict in favor of the customer. 😎

John Oliver is a snake in the grass so its "discrimination" now to not attend a gay wedding for religious or social reasons (or whatever)? So now in order to prove ourselves as being "not discriminatory" our hand is "forced" essentially and we MUST attend a gay wedding even if we have moral or social objections to it, in order to prove we are not "homophobic bigots"? Makes perfect sense . Also..just so we are perfectly clear The definition of discrimination : the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex. So is it "unjust" to not want to attend a Gay wedding?...……..what is say, for example, a Satanic organisation wanted to perform a Satanic marriage ceremony and they invited a Christian who rejected their invite on religious grounds...is it "unjust" and discriminatory for the Christian to decline their invite?...is it "unfair"?..is the Christian a "bigot" for not wanting to attend the ceremony? And lets flip the argument for a second...…..lets say a Christian couple were baptising their child or were having a Christian ceremony wedding and they invited a "gay couple" to the wedding , and this gay couple rejected their invite (for whatever reason...maybe they saw it as a provocation or something). Is it "discriminatory" for the gay couple to turn down the invite to a Christian ceremony? Can you see why many people still have problems with the toxic nature of the left and LGBT community?...…..they have gained ground, power and influence...and its STILL NOT ENOUGH for them The LGBT and Left claim to be about justice and they claim to be "oppressed victims"....but in some cases they are the biggest bullies, hypocrites and bigots around!
@hazukichanx4086 жыл бұрын
+studmalexy - Nice strawman. Here's the problem: Nobody's forcing you. The only question is, "Would you refuse to go to a wedding simply and specifically because the couple getting married, were gay?" If you answer "yes", then you have a problem with gay people and that is sad and embarrassing. For you. If you answer "no", you still have every right not to go to the wedding as you would with any other couple; for social reasons, personal reasons, due to circumstances, whatever. So you have no leg to stand on with that moronic victim-blaming argument of yours; people like you who act the victim when you're told you're not allowed to persecute someone? You *do not* have a constitutional right to persecute other people, whether due to their sexuality, gender nor race. Nor is this a human or religious right. It is prejudice-based harassment, likely rooted either in your own closeted frustration or your desire to make someone feel worse than you do to convince yourself (falsely) that you feel pretty okay, and it's also *not* something a decent, dignified, caring, peaceful or intelligent person does, so... how 'bout you just stop it, 'kay?

The Christian right is having to come up with this "if you bake the cake, you participate" bullshit because without it they have zero basis for denying services. My dad was a caterer. I grew up working events. I must have worked at dozens of weddings. No, the guy serving out the rubber chicken at the buffet line or scrubbing pots back in the kitchen -- to list just two of the jobs you do as a caterer's kid -- isn't "participating" in the wedding. Hell, he's not even AT the wedding. He's at the afterparty. He's not a guest. He wouldn't be there if he wasn't paid. He's not expected to bring a gift. He doesn't get to get shitfaced, try to make out with the maid of honor on the dance floor and then throw up on the groom's father's shoes. He's the hired help. He does his thing, cleans up, goes home, and probably even forgets the couple's name the next day. It's pure bullshit, and no one of any sense buys it.

The shop owner is an idiot, but he should still have the right of association. it's his right as a business owner to choose whom he serves, otherwise business ownership becomes a form of slavery

Tim Morgan Slaves tend not to get paid fairly for their work. At the end of the day, it's fucking cakes...who cares about his association with it? It gets eaten and then shat out, he's making disposable items, the "association" is as temporary as it gets, and ends when the buyer walks out the store. The buyer might say where they got the cake if someone asks, but his attempts to be precious about things are laughable as hell.

it is your right as a private business to deny anyone a service for any reason. It is a basic right in the US, the same one that would allow a black or gay caterer to deny the KKK their services.

I am officially heartbroken from some of the homophobic fighting in these comments. Why can't we all just understand each other? Why do we have to let our beliefs have us treat other people differently or hatefully? Why do mean people full of hate feel the right to justify their horribleness by their religion? I am now just wondering why.

@@absentcoder4552 because, tbh, its just a human thing. Humans have and always will discriminate against someone and or something as long as they exist. There's yet to be a period of grace where they haven't. You don't have to tolerate it- you can even make it illegal- it'll still happen; humans are very persistent in their "beliefs" lol

I still don't understand that someone being sexually attracted to the same sex, both sexs, or nothing can then give someone the right to fire you? If you aren't doing anything terrible how does you happily sitting on your couch after work cuddling you're lover affect the job you have?
@Kwatcher1008 жыл бұрын
Veronica VanderMolen Better question, why would you want to fire someone for that? Unless being one of those things makes you bad at whatever job you do, how does it relate to your profession?

ikr. Like, no one cares or should care what their employees do in their private life. As long as they aren't doing something dangerous and illegal.
@lgl57018 жыл бұрын
One of the big problems, in my opinion, is that you may not be able to prove a thing. There are tons of jobs that have it included in their policy that they can fire any employee without notice or explanation. I'm not gay but I believe my religious practices have kept me from getting hired a few times. Nothing I can do about it because I can't prove it.

*Rights and freedoms*. While they have become one phrase, there's actually a difference between them. To make it simple, there's an old law that goes like this: *"Do what thou wilt, but harm none."* In other words, you have the *freedom* to do whatever you want, as long as you *do not harm the rights of others*. To put this more bluntly, *EVERYONE ELSE'S RIGHTS come before your freedoms*. You have rights too, yes, but "your freedom ends at the tip of my nose."
@JohnBainbridge08 жыл бұрын
"But freedom defined is freedom denied!" Yes. Yes it is. In order to have any kind of order in society, we must restrict the freedom to stab random people in the spine while they're not looking. That's what laws are for. Granted, not all laws are just, but rights over freedoms is a step in the right direction. Personal freedoms over human rights... that's a "yuge" step back.

refusing service is not harming someone.
@neonflights59517 жыл бұрын
Brandon , yes it is. By nature, you're taking away a service from someone. Service works in the regard that service is provided. Service is not a treat, or a complimentary privilege, like peanuts on an airline. Service is the *completely reasonable* expectation that the steward will deliver the in-flight lunch that you'd already paid for, and not deprive you of it. A lack of service is translated as deprivation. I work in retail, and if I just refused service to every customer I had seen left a mess where it was already tidy, I would soon out be on my keister, because my job is to attend to these people and their needs, regardless of what I feel about serving them.
@vickiesutherland62407 жыл бұрын
"There is a way which seemeth right to a man, but in the end thereof are the ways to death.". (Proverbs 14:12). And why would that be? "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish is foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent!" (1 Corinthians 1:18-19). Homosexuals, I must alert you to that sin. You must turn from it or you will judged by God. His Law demands it. Don't you care? Don't you understand Romans 3:20? "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin." What does the Law of God say on homosexuality?
