Randy, if you ever start a paid guide service I would pay to hunt with you. So much knowledge and a great guy. We don't always get to harvest every trip, but just being out there is a blessing.

Itd be nice and he would always have work. But like he's sadi time and time again, the people he spends his time with has gained highe4 importance. He's also ages every year, and guiding goes against his hunting career ethos. It would be nice to at least get some instructional training on how to go about finding animals, stalk patterns, and all that kind of stuff. I think that'd be up his alley for sure.

It would be a dream come true if I could go back hunting in the grizzly bear country with my son for a deer or elk. He is a retired scout sniper who was raised by this old man who raised him hunting on the family farm in southwest Texas. I'm positive that his old ass dad can still get it done, just need him and Diego, his jarhaded machine gunner buddy to go process and pack out the thing for me. I'm 64 and still hunting with my handloaded Howas and vanguards. Don't have to reload for my beloved 243 though. Hunting in the places that this hunting was filmed would have been a tall order for my beloved 30/06 with the longer distances involved, so I would have to tote my 300 winchester Vanguard with the composite stock sighted in at 300 yards at the same elevation before hunting for elk. For deer hunting of any species my favorite gun is the 257 Weatherby Vanguard. This gun punched a single hole the size of a watermelon seed when I settled on my hunting load for it.

My daughter and I drew two bull tags in Nevada this year and I’m trying to plan my vacation days for the best opportunity at finding a couple good bulls. This will be our first bull elk hunt. Our season is November 5th-20th. Would you recommend trying for the first part of the season hoping the elk haven’t been pushed too much, or the second week hoping for some snow to push them down? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
@blackmesaoutdoors4863

I'd go at the beginning. A week later you might have 100 less bulls to even go after. You never know if other hunters will push them to you as well. You'll make some great memories either way!

I like this question. Not so concerned about sponsors/brand. But when going out on a hunt like this late season what does your dress gear look like? I am also curious on early season.
@kingofthesofas
@kingofthesofas 5 жыл бұрын
@@cosmicchuck420 personally I have similar setup to what Randy uses. Sitka subalpine base layers, timberline pants, a nice Sitka synthetic jacket and I have a Patagonia down vest I use for layering. If it is early season or not that cold the base layer with the vest is perfect. Down to about 40 degrees or if I am moving around in colder weather. The jacket is good between 20-40 and below that I wear them both.

Robert I was raised in montana an remembered when the sun river game range had close to 10,000 head of elk on it in the winter now it only holds around 2500 elk. You know why because the government there allowed militarymen to hunt as citizens of Montana also people that would come an shoot more than one elk. My dad an I were up in bench mark when a fella shot an killed twelve elk then started calling friends in great falls to come an tag them. He got caught. This was years ago. But people like that cause the herd to go down, then there's ones that kill just for hornscan let the rest layvan rot. It's a shame.Ok there the one that need to be shot
