It is one of Randy's favorite hunts of the year, Montana general season elk camp. Tim Lesser from Leupold and Beau Baty from Wilderness Ridge Trail Llamas join Randy to chase elk. Warm weather has kept the elk up high, and the guys don't see much in the first few days of hunting. An early winter storm brings plenty of snow, however, and the guys are excited at the prospect of seeing elk come into the area in response to the recent cold blast.

I have been hunting the same game unit in Washington for 42 years with family and friends. We have had to eat Tag Soup for a lot of those years but like Randy says it's not always about the kill. It's about a tradition of spending time with nature and good company. Every year I look forward to the 18 days that we spend in camp, sleeping in wall tents, having the time of our lives and making memories.

Spent a lot of time in the mountains when I was younger guiding for elk, you can't beat the views after a fresh snow!! A lot of work, but those views always eased the pain.
