After a tough year battling cancer, Beau Baty returns to the wilderness with Randy and Lorenzo Sartini in search of big mule deer bucks. Almost immediately, the guys find themselves multiple nice bucks to chase. Despite knowing where the bucks are, getting clear shots on them proves to be a bit of challenge. The craziness of 2020 fades into the background as one of the best deer camps in recent memory helps everyone appreciate the camaraderie and friendship found in the backcountry.

Beau’s struggle is real! I know where he’s coming from! Had a drunk driver hit me and damaged my spine! 7 1/2 hours of surgery later and 2 metal plates in my neck and 20 screws in my spine and I am able to get around again! Not able to work but with my boys help I am able to get out and hunt snd be out in the woods with them even if it’s not in the back country! Hunting is life for some people!

Went on my first deer hunts with my wife 3 years ago. We got skunked. Last 2 years we couldn't go because of wildfires. This year I said "I'm going to hunt, and I'm doing it right". So I made a few scouting trips, put up some cameras to help a little. Seen 1 buck on the cameras, and 1 in person on trip 1. I'm taking my cousin in a week and a half (his first deer hunt) and we're going to be out there opening morning of archery season. I don't care if I get skunked again, I'm happy I got to put in the effort, and I'm confident we'll see deer, even if we don't get a chance at anything to shoot.

This was a hunt to think about, it was more than a hunt. It was about life's challenges and how we work thru them. Cancer 7 years ago and a seizure 3 weeks ago 72 years old but my 14-year-old son and I are planning our next elk hunt. The Lord God has been good to me. I'll be thinking about you Beau.
