Phillies' "Wingturion" 100 Jumbo Korean Fried Chicken Wings Challenge Was Bigger Than Expected!!

American professional eater Randy Santel versus Phillies Pub's "Wingturion" 100 Jumbo Korean Fried Chicken Wings Challenge hosted by Phillies Pub located in the Haebangchon (HBC) district of Yongsan-gu in Seoul, South Korea in East Asia!! My girlfriend ‪@KatinaEatsKilos‬ and I left Taipei, Taiwan in East Asia and flew to Seoul, South Korea where I attempted 2 huge and delicious Korean competitive eating challenges around the greater Seoul metro area. For final Korean food challenge #2, we headed to Phillies Pub in Haebangchon of Yongsan-gu so Katina and I could each attempt and help kick off Phillies Pub's new "Wingturion" 100 Jumbo Korean Fried Chicken Wings Challenge. This epic wing eating challenge is exclusively available on Thursday evenings which is Phillies' Wing Night where their huge and delicious jumbo Korean fried chicken wings are on special. This "Wingturion" Challenge is based off the famous and popular "Centurion" Challenge where people get 100 minutes to drink 100 shots of beer by taking one shot every minute for each of the 100 minutes. So for this "Wingturion" Challenge, there is a 100 minute time limit to feast on 100 of Phillies' Korean fried chicken wings tossed in the wing sauce(s) of your choosing. I ordered 50 wings with their Korean sauce and divided up the remaining 50 wings between the use of 3 other tasty sauces - Wasabi, Sichuan Hot Pot, and Sesame Garlic. I did not have to eat one every minute on the minute as with the Centurion Challenge. I was trying to become the second person to win my ₩60,000 Korean won meal free (~$45 USD) plus a sweet T-shirt & hat along with my name and photo getting posted on Phillies' Wall of Fame. I'm always AMAZED by how few chicken wings I can eat. There is so little meat on them, but I THINK the whole "Feeling Full" mechanic in the brain kicks in because it takes so long to finish each wing - comparatively speaking. So while you could PROBABLY have eaten all 100 wings if they were off the bone, because of the extra time and effort, your capacity was diminished. Great video as always; thank you for sacrificing your health for our entertainment! You're a modern gladiator.

The wings have a good amount of skin and bits of fat that'll make you feel satiety. It's like eating a ribeye including all the bits of fat surrounding the spinalis.

I think everyone (including myself) always overestimate how many wings they can eat, since a wing is just... a wing. Honestly I don't think I would survive more than 12-15 of those, Randy. So huge respect for managing almost all of them! When it's a professional eater it surely puts chicken wings into perspective...

Best of luck on your travels. I was so close to visiting South Korea and working in Japan at one point myself. I had experience with Motion Capture and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. That would've been a real dream come true to visit South East Asia.

Great video Randy! As always, you are the consummate champion of the competitive eater and that’s why we love your channel. The flavours you chose are not the easiest to eat like others sometimes do. Chicken wings are a lot of chewing. Big time. And to be honest, 6’5” and over 50, I’m lucky to eat 15, let alone 100. Glad you were smart enough to stop before… Thanks for sharing!!!
