I enjoy your videos Randy and this is definitely Top Five with all that you've shared. I'd say Challenger is my favorite with Formidable a close second. Magic Mountain was great also but both Lemah video's are hard to give Magic the edge at three. Enjoyed Dome, the Tooth, and other Peak Bagging Adventures you've shared. Ty for sharing while giving future beta on routes to get up some of these Beautiful Hills.

Thank you John. I will sometimes watch my own videos to decide where to go next. Lemah is so close and also an enjoyable climb. Especially if you like the wilderness feeling.

Like I said earlier, watching this video was the best 18 minutes I spent all day. Very relaxing music, easy to follow narration, excellent use of trekking pole to point out what you are talking about. It seems you have planned beforehand the points you want to cover in an upcoming video, almost as important keeping the climbing beta itself in the forefront of your mind. Keep up these habits and one day your already impressive video library will be the video equivalent for us of "Beckey's Bible". Well done Randy, it was a joy to watch!

Thank you Joel. I did enjoy the trip, the solitude, and a very nice peak worth climbing again. The wetlands were amazing. I have rarely seen such nice marshes. I would climb it a third time! ....As for pointing: The pointing with my trekking poles is good in general....yet,because I have to hold my camera away and the camera screen has little contrast, it is sometimes difficult to see exactly where I am pointing. I also get some parallax shift, so what I am point to, the camera sees at a slight error. My next camera might have a viewfinder, which should make pointing easy.

Hi, Joel. I tried to comment on your KZbin channel, but your comment were not allowed. You might enjoy them, once you toggle that comment switch to on..... let me know if you do that... Randy :)

Aye Randy💜2climb : Another stellar production ! Professional photos , feels real video and warm narration 😊 Thanks for taking us all along on your hard earned and rewarding adventure . Loved the moss lined tributary , the spires below 2nd peak , the jet , the interplay of green moss on blue lake and your homecoming scene (ol' bed site). Regards from the mountains of British Columbia . stacy

Hi Stacy! The moss and the alpine lake area was really beautiful. It is such a cool place and most everyone goes to other places since there is no direct trail. It is funny to me that so many will completely miss out on these gems. .... Ohhh on Cat peak, both you and I need to list the other in the credits, since we are collaborating, to avoid a copyright error by KZbin.

You're awesome Randy. I hope to be able to climb like you soon - safe and solo. I'm taking a glacier mountaineering course on baker in a few weeks. I've done plenty of scrambles in the Cascades but I think learning some more advanced skills and quite literally learning the ropes will make me feel more comfortable in the mountains overall.

That is awesome that you learning the basics. I don't think it takes that long to get higher on the climbing curve. Be safe! Climbing is fun, very beautiful but also unforgiving on very small mistakes... I have done Baker twice. 4:28 mins car to car was my best time. 3:28 to the top and 1 hour down.

Just don't tell em you wanna solo on glaciers, or they may flunk you right away.

Randy do you have a bivy sack you recommend? Going to do this soon also!

I did Lemah 1 (0r 5?) solo in 2004? Was from the south(spectacle lake) Unfortunately I was in a pretty heavy fog and mist in the summit area.
@RandyT_RandyLikesToClimb Жыл бұрын
I climbed the main summit, not Lemah 1 or 5, just the main peak. I started from the Pete Lake trail on the East side. Although I have not done it, it can be easily accessed from Snoqualmie Pass, by just going over Chickamin. I have used Chikiman to gain access to the West Face of Overcoat. Pete Lake is shorter. /// Spectacle lake works also, but I have not come from that side.

I love this video!! It’s so helpful and beautiful, well made and narrated!! I am going to use some of this to help guide me , I’m hoping to try this one this summer, what’s all the gear you highly recommend for the climb up? Thanks!

I have a short video on what I take to climb. It is not much, fairly minimalistic.... kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIazdneZebmletE If you need some advise or beta, just give me your contact info and I will try to get back to you. Randy :)

Randy T oh perfect!! Thanks and I might just take you up on that as July gets closer I’ve done a lot of day hikes but want to get into more advanced back packing and that area has been calling my name for awhile! I would gladly give you my contact info and I really appreciate the offer of some pointers! -Cameron

@@csefilmshd5783 Some alpine climbers carry a bunch while others go very light. I can tell you that I like going light. I can go nearly twice as far when I am not loaded down. I will sometimes fit everything, including my climbing gear, rope, ice axe, crampons, possibly snowshoes into 35-40 liter pack for a 3-4 day trip. If you purchase a 60 liter pack, you will probably fill it with things you don't need. (remember to always take rope with you, even if it is just 4-5 mm, I can't tell you the number of times I have gotten out of trouble with 40 meters of a small, light rope) Randy

Randy T outstanding advice!! Thank you so much that helps me out a lot, I feel like that would be the way to go, I definitely carry more than I need for my day hikes I go on, did you have to rope up on Lemah? I’ve read you don’t have to but it’s recommended, and if you don’t mind me asking what boots do you wear for climbs like those? Also my email if you rather communicate that way further on is “iamcamiam1@icloud.com” again thank you so much!
