Barr. This controller looks like it’s geared for the turntablist which is great! That’s why u have that empty space in the center like most of there mixers. I always felt simple is better and never liked controllers or mixers that are crowded. I personally use my 1210’s with Mixars duo and I love the simplicity of the set up. I can definitely see myself purchasing this. Rane equipment is always made to last forever and even though the were bought over I don’t see them cutting much corners on the built. $800 would be a steal but most likely it will sell high. Pioneer controllers are cool but I never found any interest in purchasing one but this Rane looks appealing.

Genius for jumpin on this video lol. Looks like the platters are 9". Normal vinyl s are 12". The NS7 had 7" platter I believe and to me theyre just too small. The build quality of the ns7 was not very good on all three versions. We had a couple in our company and had issues with all of them. This is a turntablist controller. Thats why its two channel and why theres nothing crowding the center section of the mixer where your hands could hit while using the faders. Looks like they chose to have larger platters and fit everything around it. I highly doubt it will be low quality or cheaply built but being as theyre owned by a new company it's possible. From what I read it will be around the $1300-1400 area. If you're a controller dj I'm sure this doesnt look that great to you but if youre on turntables and looking for something smaller to travel with this is probably what youre looking for.

All my Numark NS72 and V7s still work fine and the build on them are great full steel construction. All they have to do is add effect paddles to a newer version and its a go. NS7IV. but they both are under the same company. Rane and Numark

I've been using the Numark NV for 6 or 7 yrs now, bought it new when it came out. It has an issue on 1 jog wheel, I plan to get checked out, othwise working fine. Should I change/upgrade to a Pioneer controller?

Don’t be too surprised if Rane releases a 4 channel version of this. Especially if this 2 channel version flys off the shelves. You can see that there is plenty of space to add 2 more channels if they wanted to. I’m excited to see the other gear to be released this month!

This looks awesome. I have the rane 12mk2 and they are great. This could be the best fit for those who want to carry out a smaller footprint than the normal set up. Also rane always had a great output sound in there mixers so this won’t be any different. Nice loud output to your power speakers and you are good to go.

The price point is they key. Rane does make good equipment they have been around a long time. If the price is right and quality is good it will sell. The platers look to be nine inches reminds me of my demon 3700 CDJ'S good size plater for the turntablist.

Great video...I was stalking this yesterday. The dead space is for turntablists. Just like battle mixers , the empty space is to be clean and free of obstructions so you don't accidentally hit anything during a routine.

45's are also known as 7 inch. They got labeled as 45's because that is the speed that most spin at. However, there are some that spin at 33 1/3 RPM. Since this is the case more generically and accurately all of this size is better called 7 inch.

Good first look! The empty space in the mixer section is more than likely because it will cater to scratch DJs/turntablists. It minimizes accidentally hitting a button or switch when you're getting busy.

Loved my NS7. Still using my NS7ii, been waiting for the NS7iv that has sadly never come. I never liked the jog wheels but I do understand the appeal vs. the spinning platters. The feel of the NS7/ii are fantastic. I like the look of the Rane One, but only 2 channels has me going 'ehhh...' I know I need to move on from my NS7ii soon, and I'm leaning toward Denon's SC line - maybe not even the motorized since jog wheels have come SO far in the last 10-15 years. I like the DDJ1000srt, but Pioneer has always felt a bit plasticky to me.

Mixed feelings about this controller. Have you checked out the VMS 5 from American Audio. It’s a few years old but it’s a stand alone controller with built in sound card and midi mapable. I don’t know anybody else who owns one. It’s a great controller I am a hobbyist I hold down a 9-5 but I do dj a party here and there. Just wanted your opinion. Tnx! Great content. My NS7ii is still going strong, but software/firmware support is about to end for it sadly, so I need to move on. Was considering a solid used NS7iii, but I think I'm going to the Denon SC6000 or 6000M, or the Ranes. I may consider the DDJ1000srt, but Pioneer controllers have always felt a bit plasticky to me. I'm really excited to see more of the Rane controller(s).

@@ZhemJZ I got the NS7ii too and also use a denon Mc4000 for smaller events. Love both. Honestly NS7ii is perfect, but but it's heavy to lug around. Shit I even have some. Modded Technics DZ that are 10inch..... Love them DVS but I need to upgrade mixer game as I have no modo pads.

Looks like a 9 inch platter. That empty spot could be for the Rane Two and will include 4 channels. The motor will be brushless as with the Denon SC6000s. Plastic, probably but so is all of Pioneer controllers and their high price S11 so, no issues there... Are the 1200s plastic? I know they are just as heavy as a Technics 1200..just curious

I’m thinking this is going to be priced at least as much as the Numark because it’s got “Rane” printed on it. I’m also guessing the platters are closer to 10” if the overall size is similar to the NS7ii, which makes it an odd size to put custom vinyl on. I can go find any color of 45 and replace the vinyl on my NS7iii

it looks good but why are all tne new controllers putting all the buttons are on the bottom of the controller instead of the top then you bring down the jog wheels to the bottom so your jog wheels are inlne with your crossfader then take your left pitch controll to the other side. With the buttons at the bottom and the jog wheels where they are me feel am reaching to get the jog wheels. I come the era where the turntables was always in line with the crossfaderandthe pitch controll on the left turntable was always on my left . IS IT JUST ME

See like I said earlier man. SERATO for the win when it comes to variety! While I totally agree that this bird looks a lil undercooked (like the did not know what to do with some of the empty space) I dis agree on the platter size bro. I think these platters might be like 10 inches end to end! If that is the case fam, they just officially made me a convert. I Started with VDJ but left atomix because they refused to admit and fix the controller scratching issue. Instead they went after the DVS market... dumb. I switched to recordbox at the end of 2019 because the ddj 1000 was the best light weight controller I had seen on the market for years. Then, I started getting cabin fever a few months ago when I realized that staying with RB meant nothing but pioneer under my fingers... forever...... ewwwww) If this controller could manage to have bigger platters than the NS7, be lighter than the NS7, but be barely bigger than the ddj 1000... then I can get pass her lack of and clear need for make up! This is a recipe gauranteed to make me finally join the dark side... Serato🤮

Well u forgot a few important parts, it's Mag Four X3 faders so it's mayor, and if you are a vinyl DJ and need something portable this is the only real alternative. For us we don't use the cue button we use hot cues. We love spinning platters and especially large one, these look like 7” which is wonderful, also u have everything u need in this bad boy. I'm waiting to see what the other companies are coming with but this is my contender for a buy right now. It won't be more than 800 buck, it's seem like a mid range one.

Being that Rane is under the InMusic umbrella, It's just an NS7II with a face-lift. The original NS7 came with Itch and transitioned into Serato DJ, NS7II came with full version of DJ and both support SDJPro. I'd actually take the NS7II over this

The faders is the same size and ergonomics of the 70/72 mixers. It was designed like that to keep it clutter free for turntablest on the go. IT HAS 4 MAG FOUR FADERS!!! Controllers with this build quality don’t exist. I dislike no hardware FX, only 7” platter and no dedicated sampler volume out.

I'm a decks guy so turntables and mixer technics with old skool gemini ps 626 mixer I learned to dj on these and stick with it to this day. Don't like controllers or cd decks. Cd decks are over priced for tech what is a cd player. I have one of those in my car
