I have the NS7III paid less got a machine with more features but the downside is it isnt very portable. This is a dope controller I think $200 less than retail would have been a more fair price though.

I thought when i saw it too nunark have already done that and I didn't want the nunark one but I'm selling my 1210s and djm 450 for it no way would I have replaced those brands with something numark . It very much yes is a brand thing.

Completely different platter resolution and crossfader. Also, build quality. Night and day improvements. Not saying the NS7 isn’t capable but this is next level.

Will this work with rekordbox software? I have the DDJ-400 and am looking to upgrade, especially to something that I can do more scratching on. This seems like the best option, better than the DDJ-1000 for that at least.

I was in the same boat, started learning on DDJ-400 last year - recently ordered a DDJ-1000, but due to the lack of stock it was taking forever to get dispatched... this gave me more time to really fall in love with the Rane One, after watching almost all the reviews it is better for me than a DDJ-1000. I cancelled my order and bought the Rane One (collecting tomorrow :D) ...it is a shame that its only Serato though but I'm willing to use it instead of Rekordbox solely for that scratch bank feature. if Serato is the only way then so be it if its only way I can use this amazing controller.

God, I learned so much more from watching this now that I have a Rane One than when I first watched this and had a DDJ SR2. I was just now practicing before watching this and during my practice session I started lining up the rane line with the cue point. Then I turn on this video again and saw you start every new track with the platter lined up at 12 oclock. Duh lol. I had a breakthrough tonight lol. 2 weeks with the Rane and I love it! Now I love it even more! My scratch practices are already so much more productive.

@@Bulcano747 main Con I would have for the SR2 is the small tempo fader, no spin indicator on the jogwheels, and sub par cross fader. Outside of that. Its a great controller for the price. Has a decent soundcard, professional outputs. And a lot of cool features some pro gear doesn't have. Like you can edit your beatgrid easily from the controller in 5 different ways. You have 6 separate fx controls you can apply to each deck with their own individual depth pots. Needle search strip. The performance pads feel nice. And it is super light weight but not toyish. I call it the best controller for the serious beginner. Or the intermediate that wants to upgrade from their beginner gear (ddj 400 and below)...if you need a quality controller but can't quite spend 1k or more, I really think it's the way to go. Though in some cases I would also recommend the FLX6 for a lot of the same reasons. But to me. I feel like the SR2 provides more professional features instead of gimmicks and pretty lights. Where the FLX 6 looks pretty, but may leave you disappointed by omitting some pretty necessary features for taking certain gigs comfortably. All in all, the SR2 has way more pros than cons imo. It will always hold a dear space in my heart and I am super glad I chose to purchase it to learn on as opposed to much of the level 1 gear available. It made the transition to a Rane One completely smooth. Everything I learned from the SR2 translated very easily to the pro gear I have been blessed to get to play on.

@@Bulcano747 Damn I may have misread your question. The only con moving from the sr2 to the Rane One was losing those beatgrid editing features directly from the board. It allowed me to play new tracks at a gig and could literally quickly fix the beatgrid if I needed to before dropping the track. Other than that. Not a single con upgrading to Rane One. I absolutely love it. The moving platters, the soundcard, the crossfader. The longer tempo fader...all of it feels super nice coming from the SR2. Its heavier, but not too heavy to where it's daunting to think about loading it up in a mobile set. Like at all. It's funny I've heard big dudes complain about the weight. I'm 140 soaking wet and it's no problem to move around. Yet the weight makes it feel very secure when placing it on the table... I used to accidently slide my SR2 around and it would be annoying. But the Rane ain't budging with its weight and rubber legs. You have to lift it to move it which is just great, especially if you work a small bar where some idiot might think it's okay to touch your gear. You can just focus on smacking their hand away and not worry about them knocking your board off the table lol. Hope this helps.

Ah so there's the Numark NS7 IV! looks like inMusic has shifted all of Numark Tech to the Rane side so they can charge more since Rane is seen as a more premium brand, the Rane 12 even uses the same motor as an NS7II/II!

​@@djdeejdjay8669 Nope, I had 8 Numark controllers since 2006 (mixtrack, mixtrack 2, quad, mixtrack pro 3, NS7mk1, NV, NS7mk2 and even old CDN-30 back in the days:)) they all were great for the price, no complaince, not a single problem. You see, some brands have smeared reputation without any reason. For instance, some people believe that Behringer is a cheap brand, but Behringer owns "top quality" brand Midas and some other brands. Same thing with Numark and Rane, Numark is a "cheap" brand (which is not true) and Rane is a "top quality" brand, but they both belong to InMusic (Numark, essentially}. fact...

Same with Numark, it's a workhorse for the money, but if you want to feel premium - here is Rane for you. Or Denon, since Denon is part of InMusic too. I am a DJ but I'm also FOH engineer, and I've heard a lot of DJ gear when sitting infront of a mixing console :)

They are both under the same umbrella company along with Numark (InMusic). In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Rane used the same blueprints from the NS7s to get where they are now.

What if Denon produces a Huge Standalone Controller , With two Motorized 8.5 inch Joggs , Innofaders , and a huge Screen with all the Service's that the Primeseries gives Today , in less Money then the Xdj xz..... I mean the only things that doesn't give the Prime 4 , the N1 Position , Are is Small and Bad joggs , and a Funny Crossfader..... Stay Safe and Healthy...

That was really impressive, i like the fact that you had an overlay of the tracks above and below; to see where you cut points were coming from. I am also curious to see how you choose the tracks? Was it pre planning involved? With pre cue points arranged?And how did you jump tracks with just using the pads?

He wasn't jumping tracks, he was jumping to cue points - these are absolutely custom tracks that he's planned and setup prior :)

Where is the CUE button? Its not next to the play button like on other controllers.

The cue button is just above the play button to the left. As this controller is mimicking a set of turntables (which don't have cue buttons) the button is rarely used, hence why it's smaller and out of the way.

The scratching at 1:15 would sound better with 12” tables. With 7” platters even a small movement is more rotation hard to really chop stuff up in detail and loses that classic wherrrr ahhhhhh slow movement like the real cuts. Plus actual technics have to have way better torque motors. Nice toy but I’ll stick with my 1200s.

Technics actually have less torque than the Rane One, you can switch the Rane between low torque which is around the same level as a 1200 turntable and high torque which feels much more like the more recent turntables.
