Man, I love the performer still a lot to learn. As for weight, I'm use to setting up big sound systems back in the day with huge subs mid boxes and all , so a 28 pound controller is a breeze. Not sure why people mention the weight of gear these days because today's gear does not come close to the weight of what we had to set up back in the day. I went with a Maga soft case for my performer because I use a prox booth. The days of flight cases are done for me

We mention the weight because just because it used to be very heavy doesnt mean it has to remain heavy. Lugging heavy equipment can damage the back gradually. 😊😊

Nah, man. Keep the deck. Love how you integrated your violin with the entire system. Also, it has dedicated stem controls. The possibilities are endless. So what if it's on the chunkier side. What man doesn't like a little extra meat on the bones. Best controller on the marker. Hands down. Lol.

I don't see the cons as real complaints. Anyone who's ever really been a DJ when software wasn't around to make you appear to know what you're doing is familiar with carrying around heavy items to do a jam. I see this controller for what it is, a mobile production unit to enhance set. The only real con being that it is a Rane product is that it's not compatible with it's big brother units for expansion. I'm talking about the Rane 12s. No USB hookup for them as your 3rd and 4th deck. That would be a great way to get that "all out" look at gigs. My old Numark NS7iii was paired with satellite CDXs on the ends and it was great for performing big gigs. This deck would be slamming if you had that option. Plus you would figure they would promote unifying their products together. But if that was the case, I guess you could just buy the Rane 4 and hookup additional turntables for a cheaper build. Either way, congrats on your purchase and enjoy brother. The violin is a nasty tool for creating soundtracks btw. I applaud your ingenuity.

Thanks for the feedback. I was really trying hard to find cons, but the decks and dj sets are smaller and sometimes shorter nowadays (2hours and under). I have performed in 3 events in one day and thats where I find the weight to maybe be an issue for some people especially if you moving around in the city on public transportation. Usually I don't but I have in the past. I used to help DJs carry crates to gigs and I can't imagine doing that now lol. Thanks again for stoping by!

I have not seen it done yet as I do not have a Rane performer but the Rane twelves MKII should work with the performer since the mkii has the DVS audio ports on it for connection.
