The background in ur vdo at 9:56 to 10:00 scene where the politician is seen ordering open fire is an adaptation of Jalliawalah Bagh massacre (I believe because it reminded me of that) in 1919 when Gen. Dyer ordered open fire on an unarmed gathering, and the place had only 1 entry/exit point. I think, you might like to read about it. It was one of the many events that really inspired Bhagat Singh to fight for freedom.

This is indeed a great movie :) Characters they portray were all great freedom fighters India always remembers like Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh and many more . Music is by A.R. Rahman - The most phenomenal Indian Musician also known as "The Mozart of Madras" & "Tomorrow's World Music Icons" who also composed music in Slumdog Millionaire, Lagaan, Gajini, Jodha Akbar , Bombay etc Among his awards are - 6 National Film Awards, 2 Academy Awards, 2 Grammy Awards, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe, 15 Filmfare Awards and 16 Filmfare Awards South. - Awarded Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award, in 2010 by the Government of India. - In 2009, Rahman was included on the Time 100 list of the world's most influential people. Trust me when I say this...Lagaan would have been a better choice hands down! It is an Oscar nominated film which is still being taught in many film schools all over the world including NYFA. It is a must watch

Watch Lagaan the movie which cannot be described in one word other than EPIC!!! It was gone for Oscar's but didn't win not because it didn't deserve Oscar but because Oscar doesn't deserve this movie.
