I had one of the original 3.5l engines in my 1961 Buick special. ran 5w30 oil in the winter. No electric fuel pump. So crank 3 times to fill the carb bowl. pull choke 1/2 to 3/4 between +20F. and -30F. pump 6 times. crank 3-4 times until fire. pump 4 times. fire and run. feather throttle. :) My 71 Buick with Big 7.5l v8. -20F. Crank 3 times. Pump 4 times. fires right up but a lot more compression and hotter coil than the little 3.5L. I still love seeing the RRC nothing like that Buick/Rover soundtrack. Also glad to see that North Dakota is not the only place that you have to scrape the INSIDE of the glass:) HAHA.

Hi, nice to meet ERIK and yourself, OK do what the Americans do, If the motor turns over and wont start, spray some brake cleaner down the air intake to help it start/ maybe less stress on both the starter motor and battery. thanks for the video. Ian -- UK - a landrover Lover.

Hey Ian and thanks for watching and giving tips. It’s what this channel is about, we all being here learning at some stage or another. I have seen them do that, don’t know if Erik has thought of doing that. I guess he will be on here answering that him self. There is a lot more LR content on the channel to enjoy and feel free to give feedback, tips and video suggestions. 👍😁

Your RRC content has been the best available on the web and your 50th anniversary video was the best tribute I’ve seen (I complimented you at the time 👌), so Erik and his RRC’s absence was keenly felt by anyone who has a soft spot for the RRC. It was a real treat to have this video land at a difficult time when we are all looking forward to milder temperatures and the prospect of some freedom. Very much looking forward to seeing much more of Erik and his RRC and drinking in the V8 burble. Hopefully only a couple of months before my suffix A is ready for adventures courtesy of @churchhouseclassics. So excited for that!! Please keep up the great content and thank you for all of the effort. It most definitely shows. Best wishes from London.

Robert 🙂 thank you so much for your kind words! We would also like to get out enjoying our rovers soon! -19 degreec celsius outisde now, and been more or less like this for the past five weeks... 🙈 As the classic and I have been 700km apart I have been using the last 18 months planning how to futher enhace it for overland travle. So yes, there should be much more videos to Come when spring sets in. 😉 Good luck with your suffix A!🙂

Thank you Robert, it's soo good to hear, and I'm glad you like the content. I hope your classic turns out great and that you can enjoy it soon and life gets back to what it's suppoose to be about. Suffix A, you lucky guy. 🙂 We will do our best to keep making great content and with Erik back where he belong it's going to be a lot easier. Stay safe and best wishes, Simon

10:42 That Classic still has the small muffler near the end of the exhaust pipe? Impressive. Those rotted out in a matter of months on these cars since they never get hot enough to get rid of the accumulated water. How come this car is so rust free for Norwegian standards? Keep up the good work.
@LandRoverDrive3 жыл бұрын
Hey and wow, some good spotting. Norway, salt and rust, don't get me started on that.🙂 This RRC has been stripped down and rebuildt by Erik himself. He has done an epic job on this car and even the motor was stripped and rebuilt from the bottom and up. We have talked about making a video about it but that is going to take a lot of time so we need to plan it out first. We have no videos of the rebuild but Erik has a lot of pictures that we could use so something should be possible to make with some creative movie making. Thanks for watching and for taking your time write a comment, means a lot. Best, Simon.

Such a nice range rover classic you have there Erik, what happened to the Cooper mud terrains?
@erikiversen44973 жыл бұрын
Thanks Will! 🙂 The Cooper tires are futher back in the garage at the moment. I took them off in December 2019 because the roads turned too bad for me... Now it runs on propper winter tires. Dunlop I think. Size 215/80R16. Only downside is that my snowchains no longer fit... But not a huge problem as it is parked for time being... 🙈👍🙂
@LandRoverDrive3 жыл бұрын
The coopers does look amazing on this RRC. Should have been sponsored just for that alone. 😀

Hi! Would you mind telling what size and model tires you are running on your Rover? Thank you!
@erikiversen44973 жыл бұрын
Hi, Tommy! The tires that are on the vehicle in the first part of the video (and most of the other videos) are 215/85R16 Cooper STT Pro's. The tires that are on it now are propper winter tires from Dunlop in a 215/80R16 size, so a tad smaller, but I would say a better size for road driving!🙂👍
@tommyking47003 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the response Erik! Do you have a 2 inch lift with that size tire or is your truck at “stock/original” ride height?
@erikiversen44973 жыл бұрын
@@tommyking4700 I have the pluss one inch Springs from Famous Four. I think I have read somewhere that they are same as the Police spec...(not sure if they still sell them) The springs have been on the car for close to 10 years so I dont think they longer hold the wight of the vehicle as good. So ride height is probably more like standard these days. But thats good! Gives me more flex than a two inch lift and I can still get the car in a 2,10 m underground parking with the roof rack on!🙂
