I have enormous respect for Clarkson, Wilman, Hammond and May for what they achieved with Top Gear and I was devastated when the BBC canned it (although Clarkson’s behaviour was inexcusable). However, seeing him together with Harry, I had the impression that for Clarkson it is more about himself than about the cars. Mr. Metcalf, on the other hand, appears to have a much smaller ego and a more genuine interest in the car itself and the audience he’s doing it for.

Hi Harry. Like yourself, I have owned many £100k + motor vehicles. Also, like yourself, I always come back to my trusty L322. It now has over 170,000 miles and additional to standard service costs (I have a full service history for this mileage) it has cost me a Turbo pipe (similar to yourself) and a rear wheel bearing. Basically, less than £500 additional to servicing and tyres etc. the most amazing thing, is I still get 38.8 to the gallon on a run and 31.5 town and motorway. the car is prestine and I can guarantee that at least once a week, someone stops me to inquire about something. there are not many cars being built today that would be able to boast this type of pedigree. I’ll say I think that vehicles from about 2002-2010 were peak. Good amount of tech but not over the top, about as reliable engine wise as you can make them, without all the bollocks sensors and engine monitoring crap that kills modern ones, and pretty clean looks.

It is very true. The L322 is the true definition of the RR original formula. Elegant in the city yet still a workhorse.

If you’re decently mechanically inclined, the LR3 and 2006-2009 Range Rovers are fantastic. They have the very stout 4.4 V8 and ZF transmission.

Listening to these two is like listening to Jeremy & James May. A beautiful combination of a serious + funny conversation. I hardly ever watch Harry's Garage but when I saw he's featuring Clarkson I just couldn't resist. And by the way, I have always thought this is the best RR model (iconic looks, simplicity, sleeper) & after today my thoughts have been confirmed by 2 of the motoring greats 🤜🏿🤛🏿

I have to say watching jeremys farm has made me appreciate farmers a lot more then before, also for the belt issue try cutting one off and put it in the thing and it probably wont make any sound.

The fact that it rarely leaves the farm and everyone loves it tells me all I need to know about off roading in a Range Rover. Also this was fun as hell.

I’ve towed 6,000 and 7,000 lbs with mine a bunch of times and it was barely noticeable. 2006 and 2009, both with the Jag V8. Shockingly good tow vehicle!

They must be built differently for the UK market cause in the US these things are complete joke. GMT 800 Suburban is the best suv of all time.
@skylined5534 Жыл бұрын
@@Turshin The Surburrananan makes a great tow vehicle when it is its-self being towed by a proper car like a Range Rover. The Surbaanaanana (also so called when they rot in the middle and eventually bend) articulated hitch I think they're called.
@Turshin Жыл бұрын
@@skylined5534 you're joking right? 🤣 Rang Rovers, especially this model, stay in the shop for repairs. The only suv that's more reliable than a GMT800 Suburban is a land cruiser and that's even debatable. My 2002 Suburban Z-71 has 340k miles on the odometer and still tows 6000 plus lbs up and down hills

Clarkson's Farm is one of my favorite series, seen all of them, and have learned a great deal about the troubles farmers go through to feed their nation, working against most of the Government officials to put food on their tables. Reform is seriously needed and I hope the people of GB will wake up and demand changes. Also, the show is hilarious. Thanks for checking in with him. I've followed. your channel for years now and this was a special one. The Silverstone previews are still my favorite but your restorations are fascinating too. As a result I've come to appreciate some cars that I knew so little about including the distinctive Espada. I hope to see one in person at some point, but being here in the states, I don't know if that will ever happen.
