Range Rover Classic Differential Service

Servicing the front and rear differential gear oil in a 1993 Range Rover Classic County Long Wheelbase with a 4.2l gas engine. Date of filming, November 2023. The RRC has front and rear diffs that require service periodically. See the service manual or RAVE for more info. There are two plugs on each diff, one for drain and one for fill. You'll need a half inch square driver to open these (any 1/2 inch socket wrench should do). We needed a breaker bar to open the drain plugs, but not for the fills. We used Fram 80W-90 mineral gear oil, about 2 quarts for each diff. In the front diff, as you will see, the old oil was a total mess... chocolate brown and milky. The rear diff was much better, but there was only about half of the specified oil in the diff. It's hard to say when the diffs were last serviced, but if I had to guess I'd put it at over 5 years ago (at least) and at least 50,000 miles, but perhaps longer.
