Refreshing to see that you keep the bits in where it doesn't go to plan first time. Those of us that do our own maintenance come across these sorts of challenges all the time time but most you tube content appears to edit these out, giving a false impression of what can happen when you tackle a job that appears straight forward at first.

I just like the fact you don’t lose your patience and by Attempt 7 on the lower mount Spock is getting ever nearer !!!

Good work, when are you doing the ones on L405? I need to do mine first and it would be good to watch you tackle them first 😂

Hi Raymie - loved the video - I have petrol engine evoke and the garage just did the upper mount and the auto transmission mount on the other side - both top access jobs - but I suspect they didn't touch the lower mount...? Can you confirm that the petrol engine has the same difficult to access lower mount and also did you ever manage to access it? Is it worth changing or is it only the upper mounts that are prone to break down? I remember my ancient mini had a tie bar that needed the rubber bushing replaced, but it was only a pound :o)

iam not sure about the petrol engine mounts and if they are the same as the diesel, we did manage to change the bottom mount eventually

Same as the Freelander 2, well early versions of the Evoke, same car different lid

Were you able to replace the bottom mount and did replacing the mounts reduce vibration in the car?

Unfortunately, you changed it unnecessarily. There is no problem with your engine mount. The places you see like tears are mold burrs. Essentially, the rubber piece holds the aluminum from two sides. Those areas look very solid on yours too.

It's criminal the way they put these modern cars together. Everything is designed to be more difficult to remove. All they had to do is use the correct length bolt and to put it the other way around with the nut on the left. Also putting the e16 bolt for no other purpose than putting people off from doing the job themselves and taking it to a dealer. Well done mate, good luck with the bottom mount.
