Servicing my 1998 Land Rover Range Rover P38 DSE automatic transmission with new oil and a new filter to see if the gearbox is behaving any better than before.

Great work! I had a similar result doing the same to my Td5 Disco. I highly suggest changing the fluid again after about 250km, as only the sump fluid is drained, and old fluid remains in the oil cooler, lines, torque converter and valve body.

Thank you! Yes, I don't know if I mentioned it but am planning to do a "flush" by changing the fluid again once the car is up and running👌🏼👌🏼

@@Td5Adventures Im thinking maybe I can flush 4.5 litres out through the sump without changing filter . . then after 250km I can do the filter along with extra 4.5 litres it would be nice to at least heal the situation because I got gearbox warning light yesterday it went out after disconnecting the battery and drove for a while but take no chances I even bought the oil + filters over 6 months ago intending to do this job !

@maxkinteh6149 Your coolant temp sensor (the rear one) could be broken and that makes it shift att 4000rpms, if that is your case.

My friend, I have a 2001 Range Rover, but there is no transmission oil dipstick. I want to measure the transmission oil. Please reply.
@Td5Adventures Жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes on the later models there is a fill plug on the transmission so you have to access it from under the car to check the level.

My friend, there are only two screws under the car, one for draining and the other for fatigue, but I want to check the transmission oil. I have a defect in the last period, which is that I cannot walk forward using D

@حمدان قيمر the hole for filling the transmission is also the hole where you check the level. If fluid is slowly dripping out when you open the fill plug your level is correct. If not then you need to fill it some more. There are lots of videos on this, search for Discovery 2 gearbox service as they all have this type of fill plug.

@حمدان قيمر how they check the fluid level 👌🏼Just search for "Discovery 2 gearbox service" and see in the end
