I was able to get 1.7 miles(2.74 km) and had zero signal loss. I could have probably at least doubled that distance had I not been restricted by my battery, which was just a 4s 1500 mah 100c lipo. Also was able to fly over about a quarter of a mile(0.4 km) of trees that were about 5-10 feet(2-3 meters) tall, and then lowered down to the ground on the other side of them and still had clear usable video feed. Absolutely amazing range and penetration. Extremely user friendly long range and deep penetration setup that requires no tweaking. Would recommend to anyone.

I had similar results with my 5". No signal dropped as far as 2.5 km. Couldn't go any further as this build is not for LR. But with the 7" I went out as far as 6.5 km and I'm sure I can do even more, if I will be able to find a clear field to try. Also, interesting results you have about penetration. Keep going!

im using that patch antena and i can go 2KM on top of the mountain, minimal drop in bitrate around 45-50mbps. good antenna for mid long range..

The furthes I went out with this setup was 6.5 km. I know it can go further bu tits a matter of finding a safe place to test it.

so comparing these in a bando you happy with them? like do you think they are worth it? I use 20 iflight stubbies to be able to fit them in my dji sac but always wonder if im missing out
@adventure_boy2 жыл бұрын
I have not try this setup in a bando so can really tell for sure. What I am sure though is that both the patches and the stubbies increase the signal, the range when flying ahead of the goggles . But if you go behind yourself it's only worst. Sometimes I use the patches and the DJI stubbies when there is a chance I'll fly behind me. Also with the full setup I fell the penetration is better, so for this reason I would incline they could work better in a bando too. Cheers!

@@adventure_boy on aliexpress iflight is approximately 69 dollars and axii hd 2 129 dollars which one would you go to?? even iflight is much better than the original, or do you think you don't need to spend on it?

I got my AXII patch from here: www.drone-fpv-racer.com/combo-antenne-lumenier-axii-2-hd-patch-visor-58ghz-pour-lunettes-dji-fpv-9293.html its 89 euros, or 93 dollars for the combo package. I would go for the AXII, only because I've tested them and know what to expect of them, not doubting the iFLight is not as good although.

I've just bought these ,and I can't get more than 500 metres away , nor sire if the settings are right, any ideas mate ,❤your channel

That's strange. Are you using the 1200 mW hack/setting on the goggles? Are you facing the drone when flying? I have mine with the patch on the bottom side of the goggles and the stubs on the upper side. And finally, make sure the drone antenna(s) are properly fitted. On the same drone I had a crash and the inflight Albatros antennas have not been working properly afterwards. I have big delay and low range.

So I actually bought Axii HD 2, Because I thought it would improve my “local obstacle interference” connection. you know, being able to fly behind trees, or buildings, or down into deeper ravines etc. within 1000 m. I don’t particularly care to be able to go in extra half a mile or mile farther away from myself. The stock antennas already have amazing range with unimpeded long distance travel. So I did some tests to see if these puppies gave me a better connection in three areas within 1000 m of myself and I actually found that the performance was worse than the stock antennas. Especially as you said if I was behind myself. So to me they’re not worth it. Your test here sort of confirmed that in a sense because you said it was inconclusive. However I would add to that and say for local obstacle interference improvement, it’s a no.
@adventure_boy2 жыл бұрын
Indeed I was not able to properly test behind obstacles, but thanks very much for sharing your experience. If I think about it more it kind of makes sense why the stock antennas with radial signal are able to go behind obstacles better than patches with Omni/direct signal. For my type of flying is quite an improvement, with the stock antennas I was able to head out with no worries for about 2.5 km, while with the patches I go out 5 km with no worries. For the mountain surfing I need this type of range.
@gato98262 жыл бұрын
And my question is:did you found that antenna wich works better than originals with obstacles?thx
@adventure_boy2 жыл бұрын
Not yet, but I haven't test, tried ever since. However, beside this patch antennas, I also have another patch from TBS that I place instead of one of the stubbies, and in terms of range it's a major improvement.

I've learned a valuable lesson with regards to not trust the BetaFlight Return to home feature, the hard way, but definitely a safety feature I'm not looking forward. The battery was the biggest lost in that crash, but rather loose the drone 500 meters away then on top of a mountain.

I've tried the other day to fly through an abandoned building and it was difficult. I have no experience flying indoors, although I would like to fly through a bando. I guess we have to make the best of what we have. I do like to hike te mountains, and take the drones with me, and it's more comfortable knowing how long I can go withou to worry about it.
