I think this was based on Singing in the Rain in some way. Back then the movie was considered soft porn in places. This song is a dream where she's looking at photos of heroes and heroines in a bioscope and imagines she can be part of the world. You should check out what a bioscope is and it's place in Indian society. There's even a 2017 movie Bioscopewala. Did you watch Masoom? The Shabana - Naseer movie based on Man, Woman and Child. That was the first movie of a little Urmila. Urmila does her signature dance move from this song in Deewangee Deewangee in Om Shanti Om. All those actors and actresses do their signature moves.
