Ranger CFP 90 LARGE FIELD PACK W/ PATROL PACK

Picked up a great pack from windyman55 on ebay. 2 packs in 1 for $89. Great for Bugout or winter pack. Patrol pack great for bushcraft survival overnight or day pack. I like this much better than the Large Alice Pack. A little more slim line I think.

I was issued one of these in the military. I'm 6'4, 225, and loaded out with the day pack, that sucker was HEAVY. I am retired now, and this is the bug out "system". There are 3 in my family. My son will carry the day pack with food and water. My wife will carry the MSS and another small pack. The MSS has the two bags, and the bivey. We can make it work for three in a SHTF situation. I have a break down Ruger in the long pocket. A PX-4 Storm side arm. Wife is carrying an LCR concealed and my son has a 22 side arm. We have to work as a team and be smart to get to the bug out location 6 miles away on top of a mountain, 1/2 mile from a creek with plenty of cover. We have provisions at the location for 30 days of survival. We have tested the plan twice, and hiked it both times, off the road. That really was the way to do it. We learned so much testing the plan.

Both packs are also very water resistant. I have been using one for 3 years now. Got at a yardsale for 25.00 . Love it

Funny how this design came from the New Zealand Army infantry 'Onward" pack that was first designed in 1985 and then became and NZSAS Issue pack. I would love to have this US version for my field pack collection.

did not like the cfp90 pack, but I took the assault pack off and added quick release buckles to my alice wildcat mod and attached assault pack to back of lg alice pack.

I got mine today I traded a vanity dresser for it that was given to me so I pretty much got it for free I checked it out from the tag inside it's the real one I'm glad. I read that the knock off's don't hold up it also has the patrol bag and in that was a black and blue Ozark tent with no rods I would rather have camo anyway. what is the best way to pack these with item's that are most useful and what would be a good sleeping bag that would fit proper and is a military tent on bottom a good choice because I have heard our soldiers sometimes didn't have the best of things but I don't what items were referred to

Humongous pack. I had both in the military. Only thing I didn't like was the internal frame on the CFP 90. Once a full combat load out was in it, it was uncomfortable for me. One tough pack though.

I have a CFP-90. I have done a lot of investigation prior to its purchase. It was made by two manufacturing company. The first was DJ manufacturing, the other was specialty plastics systems ( changing their name to specialty defense systems ) these packs are the real deal. the knock offs are not in spec and are made by fox tactical and Rothco. The knock offs give this pack a bad name due to the duck foot or yolk system being weak and breaking with heavy loads.

I have the same pack but the lower back pad is a black mesh and the waste straps are camo color. Different model?

Assuming the one you buy is no a nock off, the pack itself is pretty good. The assault pack is a piece of shit and utterly worthless. The assault pack was at best a crappy after thought that some genius at procurement came up with.
