Awesome Damo, we just got back from our first trip away in the Raptor towing our new Camper Trailer. I was so freaking impressed as well. Towing over 2t effortlessly and the fuel usage sitting on 110 was around 11.6 L/100. We traversed some really steep and rocky tracks the certainly gave us an idea of what the Raptor is capable of. It simply crawled up the inclines without ever feeling sketchy and I must admit that the terrain control system really does a fantastic job. I usually think these type of systems are a bit of a gimmick but my mind has changed. Another thing I was simply amazed about going from a manual to the auto was the way the Raptor kept its solid footing during very steep descents. 1st gear in manual mode and it never overran even with rocks sliding out under the tyres. I also tried the hill descent control. WOW. Even my wife admitted that she felt really safe and in control in the Raptor. Finally I was impressed with how decent the paint on the Raptor appear to be. I scraped down plenty of pinstripe giving trees and shrubs but after cleaning the car they are not evident. The only thing I was disappointed about was as a result of sliding down onto a big rock with the passenger side side step is did put a small ding on the corner of of the step and chipped off a small section of the coating. If was a decent hit but I expected a bit more out of them. No idea what I am going to do to get it recoated or is it is even possible. Thanks again and look forward to part 2.

Nathan thanks for the great comment mate 👍🏻. It’s good to hear what other owners think. I’ve also got a few gouges in my side steps and will most likely touch them up with some paint to seal the damage. Cheers mate 😎

@@RoundTheFire I was wondering how effective it would be to sandblast it all off and get them recoated in LineX or Raptor Liner.

I’m not sure mate, the coating on the steps now is ‘supposed’ to be to an equivalent standard? I’ll keep touching them up as we go and hopefully not bang them up too much more 👍🏻

Thanks mate, when I first bought the truck there wasn't a lot of information out there about the Ranger Raptor. Hopefully by using and filming the Raptor (Good or Bad) other people can see these VLOGs and use them to make a better decision if this is the right vehicle for them...Plus its a great excuse for me to tell the wife so I can go camping and 4x4ing.

Jonnhy, thanks for the great comment mate 🍺 It is slightly higher than say getting into a normal lifted Luxy or Ranger. I pretty much use the side steps every time in and out mostly because the steps are so wide it’s a big effort to step over them into the cab and it’s easier to sit ‘down’ into the bucket seats rather than trying to slide across into them 😎👍🏻

G’day Mate, great to see you back 👍🏻 I’m very happy with the grey, I literally just finished washing the Ute and found a few more dents I didn’t know were there. From 1m away the paint looks brand new, most of the pin stripes easily show up on the black plastics more than the paint. 😎👍🏻🍺

How’s your fuel gauge reading with the long range tank?
@RoundTheFire5 жыл бұрын
Gday Trevor, I had some dramas with the gauge after the tank was first installed but after taking it back in to be corrected, the gauge is working like normal now and will run down all the way to the ‘E’ the only difference I’ve noticed is the gauge will read full until about the first 50L is used then the needle will start to drop. The DTE corrects itself the closer I get to empty. 👍🏻

Yes, In the centre of the steel bar with the the 2 rated tow points is where the factory installed tow hitch should be? It fits a standard Hayman Reese hitch. Interesting why Ford did not add this ‘ONLY’ to the Sri Lankan release? 🤔

My Raptor has been starting strange whistling sounds recently. The sound is only heard from around the driver seat area, there is no wind detected inside so the sound must be outside or under the hood. I have tried to take off window rain deflectors, 2 led lights on the car hood but there's still whistling. In the following video at 0:17, when I press the button for external air, the whistling can be hear noisier. Could you give me some advise? kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5OxfJqdjsuKebc
@RoundTheFire5 жыл бұрын
Hi Vu, poor quality video, I can’t hear any sound over people talking in the cab. If I was to guess what would be making the noise it’s the lights mounted on top of the bonnet. While you are still in your warranty phase your best bet is to take it to your dealer for anything you think maybe a problem. 👍🏻
