Thank you for the boat tour. I appreciate the explanations and the close-ups. I'm looking to buy this exact boat at the end of the summer...same color and everything. I'm not sure about the electronics yet. Good luck to you and your dad fishing in your new boat!

Thank you! If you like Lowrance, I recommend the HDS Live unit. The image is much clearer than the Lowrance Elite FS. The other disadvantage of the Elite FS, which we have on the bow, is you can’t run Chirp and Downscan at the same time.

Do the storage compartments stay dry?
@WanderOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, the compartments do not stay dry. We found this out last year during a bass tournament when a huge downpour hit us on the lake and the next day we found puddles of water in the compartments.

Beautiful boat! Is your boat a carbon metallic or a charcoal? You said it was black but it looks more like a gray color on the sides.

I ve never seen a RT188 with the step up box. Is it an optional?
@WanderOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the step up box is an optional feature you can have added to your RT188!

Nice looking rig! I'm looking hard at this model, rigged the same way. Did you look at the RT 188P also? It has some additional features for a little more money... Great job on the walk through 👍😎

Some of the reasons we went with the RT188 over the RT188P are: (1) We didn’t need the pad hull for the added cost. Not worried about holeshots or top-end speed. We’re getting 46 mph with this boat and are happy. (2) The RT188P has the fuel tank forward, so you lose all storage under seats. And we really like this storage. (3) We wanted the full storage on starboard side. We weren’t going to use the cooler anyway. (4) We didn’t need rod storage on the port side. We can fit way more than 8 rods in our center locker. And the port side rod lock only holds up to 7’ rods. Most of ours are longer than 7’. (5) We didn’t like the console at the bow to mount the fishfinder. We wanted different options for mounting, especially when we go to two units with Active Target. The set up for the RT188 was much better for us and the savings between the two allowed us to purchase the Graphs and Trolling motor we wanted, as well as upgrade the charger, hydraulic steering, and brakes on the trailer.

@@WanderOutdoors Thanks for the reply. Totally agree with those points, seemed like I would be paying more for things I didn't want anyway?? I also didn't like the angled foot boards under the console, seemed like it reduced the foot room for me. 46 MPH is more than enough speed for me too. Looking forward to on-the-water videos! 😁

What pitch prop
@WanderOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I'm running a 21 pitch prop.
@visualkeirockstar3 жыл бұрын
What pitch Prop and what speeds are you getting? I have the crestliner xf189 with the 115 pro xs and I can barley get 39mph.
@WanderOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
We have a Mercury Tempest 24 pitch prop on our outboard! Came from the factory like that. Our max speed was 46 mph, we average about 42 - 44 mph.
