Rangers 1 - Celtic 0 - 1992 Scottish Cup Semi Final

Rangers defeat Celtic to reach the 1992 Scottish cup final despite being down to 10 men for 80minutes of the match. Davie Robertson was shown a straight red card by Andrew Waddell for a bodycheck on Joe Miller.
Ally McCoist scored the only goal of the game just before half-time and Rangers held on in the second half despite determined diving by Celtic.
Rangers went on to beat Airdrie 2-1 in the final.

I was at this game, Robertson took miller out with an elbow, Waddell missed a clear penalty, loads of controversy, typical old firm game!

Such a shame what Scottish football has become in the 80's it was arguably more competitive than English football especially when English clubs were banned from Europe I used to love watching Scottish football

oh cmon thats a definite red. the time it occurred makes no difference. miller does robertson for skill and robertson petulantly and somewhat brutally elbows miller in the chest as he tries to advance. i never liked waddell as a ref but i have to say he got that spot on for me. and it was a brave decision many would not have dared to make.

goodness me. waddell might have got a rare one correct with robertson but how he didnt send mowbray off and then failed to give the blatant penalty against brown is beyond me

Andrew Waddell was always very "card happy". A yellow card and stern warning to David Robertson would've sufficed, but if Rangers hadn't went down to 10 men that night, we probably wouldn't talk about this match being one of Rangers' greatest ever battling performances. My favourite Old Firm match I ever attended. I was 11 years old and got absolutely soaked!
