Quality is so much better, look at the build up for the final Rangers goal, although when you spend above your means (as all Scottish clubs did in the 90s/early 2000s) on £12m strikers for example, the quality is always going to be higher, but the bubble is always going to eventually burst. Quite evident now.

Jorg Albertz was absolute class for the Bears. Although, an unung hero and one of the best all round users of a football i've ever seen at Ibrox was Claudio Reyna. He was a wee gem of a player.Theres noboby at Ibrox now thats worthy to spit polish these two players boots.

I was there. Corporate hospitality was after the game so there was one big party in the various suites after the match. One memory was of a Celtic fan standing after the match slapping his belly after the rest of them had gone home.

+Steve Mann - Didn't Rangers and Celtic just spend alot of money back then compared to now? Rangers went bust and as far as I know, Celtic doesn't have the best economy either these days. In the late 90's early 2000's the Old Firm was also like the English Premiership these days, full of foreigners, and very few local players. I think Rangers had Barry Ferguson and Kenny Miller while Celtic had Robert Douglas in goal, so only 3 Scottish players out of 22 on the pitch.

I followed Michael Mols at FC Utrecht and when Rangers got him I was blown away! Told all the guys watch out for Mols he's a phenomenon player. Wasn't the best trip to Ibrox ever it has to be said but it was a mere blip for the Bhoys that season. Lessons were learned then Celtic battered them big style. Actually preferred the 0-3 game at Ibrox that year

I think this may be the first time I've ever watched the highlights of this game. I didn't watch it live, but remember just shrugging my shoulders at the result. Annoying to lose to them but didn't make any difference really. I had forgotten that Thommo was sent off. May or may not have impacted the result, but we beat them when it counted that season and won the league nae bother. Anyway, it was business as usual in most of the old firm games after that, with rangers getting pumped on a regular basis!
