Midway through the movie you think you have everything figured out but then the movie makes you doubt everything you know. Amazing. Thanks jaby! My family is from the western coast of Karnataka down south in India...I grew up with my granny telling us the "gu-dda-da bh-oo-ta"(ghost of the hill) story..this movie captures the rich culture of that place. It brought back a lot of memories and made one want to go back or at least revisit their roots!

South Indian movies use local written(Brahmi) language for introduction and info. They also speak in fluent local language. on the other hand Bollywood movies don't use Devanagari script for info and in movies they speak 50% in english that's why latest bollywood movies don't find any place other than metro and tier 1 cities.

you are right...and nowadays most bollywood movies are shot abroad which is almost impractical for many indians...here in the south(atleast kannada and malayalam) movies behold the culture of the soil..

Movie can be shot anywhere but can still behold the culture. Padamati sandhya raagam was a movie shot mostly in USA..but probably has shown telugu brahmin culture to the fullest..or rather Indian culture with regard to marriage.

Bollywood movies don't show any Indian culture even there songs are full of Arabic and Persian words at least they should make Sanskritnised songs to balance. I don't remember when was the last time they showed temple in a positive way.

Just letting you guys know it, Rangitaranga is a simple yet powerful mystery thriller and one super classic in an otherwise crappy Kannada movie industry. Its the lead male who comes to a village on his wife's request and then she gets kidnapped by a mysterious 'ghost'.Then he goes on to finally find her in one of the most unexpected climax.

Hi Jaby, Loved that you did a reaction for this movie. I would like to point out that the movie is no where close to what u reacted. I dont blame you for it. everyone thought the same. But movement the movie starts , within 5 min everything , evry single assumptions you had about the movie goes away and you will tighten your seats for one hell of a movie. It doesnt take time to build the story. Infact its about revealing the story. Please do watch it. You will love it. ASK your regional movie directors how they feel high about Bolly for giving them a chance to go up to a higher platform to show their talent. Or else even Kabali didn't earn much in North India forget about outside India.. no one will watch those much-hyped no-fresh-story all similar movies from South where there's a Messiah who's actually a bad guy but turns out to be a god for poor villagers..
