At approx 6.30 the pointing 3's in box 8 resolved the 35 in box 7 and this was the key to the puzzle for me.... but as usual it took me a while to spot it.

Yep, after this one it collapsed for me. But I had populated the grid with quite a few more digits by the time I spotted that.

@@HotelPapa100 So we all fell victims to these 3s. I also penciled the whole grid before noticing that for some reason. Really interesting to see rangsk not respecting them either :P

Hello! Newly subbed to you. I've been doing NYT Hard for about 5 years and still consider myself a beginner. I did this one in about 40 minutes which is not great for me but I was new to using the sudokupad platform. Usually do them direct in the NYT site. I did find the digits showing red to be useful though, which helped. I liked your advanced technique which you did not use. I saw the pointing threes and also a 125 triple which gave me the 8. I can't believe the speed at which you rattle through the closing stages. Thanks for putting these up, really enjoy solving them at my beginners level and then watching the more complex approach which involves considering multiple digits at once. Considering all the givens in this one this was surprisingly tenacious. At one point there was a 125 triple in R5, which placed the 8.

15:48, a lil' tedious, I took a break at the 14minute mark and when I came back and realized I missed claiming 2s in C6 in Box 2 and that collapsed the puzzle claiming 3s in box 8 place the 5 in box 7

Hey I love watching your sudokus. Today in the video, you gave an advanced logic as to how you deeucted a "3" won't be in the bottom left block. I personally, love these kinds of deductions, I can solve sudoku the normal way you do it, but I am not good at the advanced deductions. Can you teach these advanced deductions please? I checked other channels but found them to be too complex. Can you solve one sudoku in your quickest way using advanced logics? And then further could you explain how we could do these kinds of deductions without you? Have a great day ahead. ❤

If you want to learn comprehensive techniques in sudoku, I recommend you to play Sudoku Coach in campaign mode. They'll teach you step by step with very detailed but understandable explanations from the simplest to the most advanced techniques

That was tough, but I prefer them like that! There was also a triple across the second band, which resolved a digit in box 6 and allowed some claiming in box 4. That still didn’t crack it for me though, but I saw an XY wing to resolve r4c6 which I found irresistible despite knowing the NYT doesn’t require it.
