I sing this Kriti often whenever I feel depressed Then during the night when the whole world is asleep and there is absolute silence all around, I listen to this Kriti in Lalgudi's violin and RG's vocal till late into the night with tears of joy flowing uncontrollably, If you want to experience the feel of this Kriti in which the Sadguru pleads before the Goddess, you refer to Thyagaraja Vybhavam Blogspot authored by Col (Retd) Govindan to know the word by word meaning of this composition. I had been to Lalgudi for getting my grandson tonsured at the Siva Temple in Lalgudi in 2017and there before the sanctum of Amman (known as Srimathi) I sang this Kriti This was where the Saint Thyagaraja also stood about 200 years back to sing this Kriti extempore This is one of the 5 Pancharatna Kritis under the name Lalgudi Pancharathna You may like to listen to Lalgudi's violin.
