Hey Roller! Ley me tell you - my son, who is 18, went to a Jorge Ben Jor concert about a month ago with his college buddies. There were kids, teenagers, young adults, adults and 60+ all having a ball and singing along with Jorge who is in his 80s. I got really emotional watching the videos that he shot during he concert, having a glimpse of the energy coming from Jorge and his band and resonating in the crowd that was insanely dancing and singing along. It was really nice and fun watching your reaction, thanks a lot. Peace! Greetings from Brazil.

Mr Jorge Ben is a legitimate representative of modern samba. He suffered a controversy similar to that of Bob Dylan because he used electric guitar to play samba. Today the legitimate successor is Mr Seu Jorge. The lyrics of the song are to pay homage to an African football player from the 70s.

Best reaction I've seen of this music. Since you guys seems to like it a lot, I will suggest two more songs of Jorge Ben Jor: TAJ MAHAL (Pick the live version with orchestra, but the original is fire too) and MAS QUE NADA (this one you may know from other artists, even the Black Eyed Peas recorded it, so pick his original version, the song is his).
