Hahah yea I'll have to do alot of testing with the new items to really get a feel for their powers and usefulness. Once I got a good understanding of the new items. I'm going to make a really in depth guide about the new Items! In the future I'll try to make the videos a bit shorter, maybe 11-16 min in total lengh where intro and outro maybe takes up 30-60 seconds and see how that feels :) And that Ekko man... Can't say he made my day any better LOL.

Wow, absolutely phenomenal video! I often watch replays of your games in the League of Legends client (thanks to them, I reached Master), but seeing your gameplay from your perspective is something entirely different. The editing style strongly reminds me of Gabungking, and the second game is much better in that regard as it provides a perspective on the entire match, not just a few fights. I'll definitely be a regular viewer and see you in EUW :)

enjoyed watching both games, but imo this shows one of the main weaknesses of garen. Unlike other top laners like Camille, Garen cannot really force engages.

Yea a simple character like Garen have many flaws such as no way to really force a fight and easily gets kited in lategame teamfights

Had a Question, how to decide when to go for hullbreaker and when not? I usually try to play with my team so i never buy it :/

I usually go hullbreaker either when the enemy team doesnt have any engage, so that my team doesnt randomly die when I split push. The other time I buy hullbreaker is when I need the extra stats vs a strong 1v1 opponent or when the enemy team has a strong botlane that i want to avoid. These are champions like kog'maw and vayne with any enchanters. Both dealing max hp damage. If my team is super far behind and im the only frontline, i ususlly skip hullbreaker and instead go steraks so that I dont leave my team alone without a frontline. But i dont know how usefull this is since the items are changing very soon. I will go more in depth with itemisation in the new season starts, so stick around for that :)

Ahh thanks a lot! I'm banning Camille if im on the blue side and dont get last pick, but I ban Varus if I'm on the red side and can pivot into another champion if the enemy picks a fat Garen counter.

Hey man, I just started a game and thought about a question, lately I have been going with ghost over ignite, since I rarely kill early and ghost seems to give me so much more power in late. I noticed you always go ignite, why is that, and what do you think about flash ghost?

Ignite is really good for getting early solokills and against champions that heal alot (warwick, vlad, olaf). If you get one or two trades where the enemy drops below 80% hp, having Ignite here would most likely result in a kill whereas not having it might result in you dying and falling behind. Like you say, ghost is really good for the lategame, but since Garen already has so much speed from his Q lvl 5, all speed items and phase rush, he doesnt really need more speed from ghost. The only matchups where I take ghost is Tryndamere and sometimes Kayle. Ignite doesnt do a whole lot vs Tryndamere because of his ult and its sometimes hard to catch up to Kayle so taking ghost here could be a good option.

Please tell me what you thought of the different editing styles :) Did you like the quicker edits in game 1 or the longer format in game 2 vs Darius? There will come more match up guides for specific Garen match ups starting next season. Since I only recently started recording games, I dont have the footage necessary to make good guides yet, but once I have more footage of a Match up I'll make a guide for it :) Right now, the champions that I only need one or two more games vs are: Riven, Darius, Sett and Kayle.

I think game 1 was too quick and game 2 is too slow but 2 can be used for more informative videos. Personally i would like something in the middle like baus editing.

Haha you made him troll mate, don't encourage them. Darius played bad, he started fights with E, which leaves room for you to kill him and you took advantage of it pretty well. P.S. I like longer videos.

@@Erislash Not long ago I played (not recorded) against a challenger top and he picked Darius. The guy pushed in 3 waves, recalled, got back and froze the wave. Then their jungle ganked (I played safe, expected it, but burned flash). From that point my lane was unplayable, my jungler didn't come to crash the wave and I lost the patience and suicided into him for no reason. And yeah, he wasn't starting trades with E. That's how you play as Darius into Garen. :D

@@doktordzoni Yea If darius plays well like that, there isnt much you can do to stop him :( You have to try your absolute hardest to not give him a chance to freeze but sometimes its just not possible and the lane is doomed! Btw thanks for the feedback on the video length :)

Had one more question since i see you here, why does no one buy cull on garden? is it bad? some lanes you just farm so cull seems really good

The reason why very few Garen players buy cull is because he is very strong after his first item and spikes super hard. if you buy cull, you delay that spike by 450 gold and are a bit weaker for a short moment then you cant contest as many waves, wont be able to kill your opponent as easily and cant get plates as easily. But despite all of this, I actually do buy cull from time to time when I feel like the matchup is super stale or when I have excatly 450 gold. But I only buy it after im already ahead when I dont really need to spend the gold to win the lane. So basically only buy it when the matchup is super slow pace, when you are already ahead but at the same time not to late into the game (never after 8-10 min) and when you have perfect gold for it. Otherwise, just get your core items and take advantage of your strong midgame!

I actually dropped down to GM and got into a game with master players, so not all of them are Challenger. But yea, this behaviour should not occur anywhere close to the apex tiers (or in any other rank for that matter) :(

Nah I think they are very good to cheese early kills one laners that want prio but arent strong early. A good example of this is the renektron matchup, He wants to hit the wave to get fury, but before he gets enough for an empowered ability, you cna trade really agressivly lvl 1. OThe amout of times I have killed Renektrons lvl 1-2 because of these runes is insane. But against laners that beat you early no matter your runes, just take the scaling stuff :)

All best Garen World are in EU not one KR or CH. Congrats man Sometimes vs Hard Match, i buy Cull first item. Its allow me to get better at farming. Good or bad idea (as a low elo player). At the first kill, you, despite minions block you zone darius for dont letting get xp and you never try to hard engage if bone doesnt fell off. Darius was not that good. I must remind this.

Thank you! When it comes to the starting item, going cull actually makes it harder to farm, since you wont be able to regen the lost hp as well as with Dorans shield. This way, you can stay in lane longer and kill more minions while also not being zoned away, because you have more hp :)

Yea that was really questionable. He forgot about the Draven ult and didn't see anybody else close to the Baron pit and also we where really ahead at the time so I dont think he was 100% focused on the game, so i can "kinda" see how it would happen. Still sucks tho :/

Some camille players run ignite and TP so punishing them right after they use E should be a great window to get kills.

It’s a free matchup, just trade with phase rush and walk out. You get too much sustain over darius in neutral. There’s no way for darius to reliably kill a garen with phase rush

Not free att all, the lane becomes really hard if you let darius take control and dont know what you're doing! According to U.gg Darius has 60% WR vs Garen in masters+ Patch 13.23, but if you know what your doing then you "might" be fine :)

@@ErislashI played the matchup u shouldn’t die at all in it, it’s free scale matchup for both. Phase rush is too uninteractive and makes it so u have slow resis. And if he uses his E in the early game it’ll mostly likely make him just run out of mana. You shouldn’t die against an E pull if u know what ur doing with ur W and just ur hp at that point. Later on ur passive sustain is too high for him to play.

@@monkey3101 Im not sure I agree when you say that its a "free scale matchup for both", Darius can hardcore bully you early and prevent you from farming, lategame he can run you down with ghost and take over teamfights if he gets 5 stacks. There is a reason Darius always has a high WR vs Garen in Masters+. In lower elos on the other hand, Darius doesnt punish Garen as much and since Garen is an easier champion, he can be played closer to his skill ceiling than Darius and therefor bring the WR close to 50/50.

@@Erislash Darius don’t run you down, garen goes every ms item and has max Q and phase rush. Most garen with phase rush should do fine into darius. Just use stridebreaker on darius

@@monkey3101 He can freeze in the early game and there is little you can do to stop him. Later on he gets steraks and you wont be able to win the 1v1, sure you might be able to run arond with phase rush for a bit. But in order for you to kill him you need to stay on him for a bit, and thats all the time he needs to get 5 stacks and keep you close with his E. In my opinion a great Darius is really scarry but you might know some really good tactics to beat him :D

Which of the games are you talking about? I can see the Maokai as more of a stomp than the Darius since I had to earn that stomp all by my self when starting off so behind. Would you rather prefer a game where I got stomped and had to come back, or when the game was super even all the way till the end? all the feedback is appreciated :)

Not really, but it was more to show that he didn't just first time Darius just to counter me, but actually a challenger player that Know what he is doing with the champion on top of it also beeing a counter :)
