Also, what purpose do the demons serve? Is their S1 really strong? Their S1 health reduction doesn't work on bosses, so I'm confused.

They don't fix the AI precisely so that the situation above happens where even with a guaranteed superspeed comp it still takes several attempts and adds some suspense for the person running it. They have done AI fixes in the past tho, Kona and Bella being the big examples but the point there is still that they won't do it just from people asking.
