Summary: -build to 2.2 bars of power then throw the special(takes longer to build back up to the sp1 causes more damage of the debuffs and more burst-depending on your rank because of combat power rate and all of that) -try to get as much ruptures as possible and draw out their duration( allows for more damage from the debuff and sp1) -You MUST keep the physical vulnerabilities up huge contributor of any part of his damage -and suicides will grant him a Ton more rupture burst and debuff damage -stick to a special attack that you want to bait out other notes: -and also he takes barely any damage from special attacks due to the taunts and encores if you’re at max sig -and also just to change your perspective a little you should really relie on the damage of his ruptures as well because they do good damage. Read this if you want to fully understand my reasoning: Okay there are a few key things you are missing you DONT build to the end of a special two because you want those ruptures at minimum duration allowing you to get maximum burst damage and general damage out of those ruptures and I imagine even though he isn’t suicide friendly he probably benefits a lot from them and you really need those physical vulnerabilities up ALWAYS so try him out like that and you should see better results And also in terms of just general play style you need to pick up a special attack that you want them to through and you have to stick to it i saw against juggernaut you weren’t doing that so maybe try that out and you will get more ruptures and eventually more burst damage. And also if you were at maximum ruptures they went through their full duration not only would they do a lot more damage but on the special one it should add up to some juicy numbers But tbh I am still on the side that he need a little bit of a tune up maybe if they just gave like up to 20-30 physical vulnerabilities but they had to be paused and only the first five could be refreshed it would make more sense because he’s clearly meant to be a persisent/ramp up/long form champion with all of his crowd members and stuff or they could just give him additional max crowd members

Its kinda confusing ngl. He looked so good in the deep dive and i also remember him doing 50k bursts on the sp1 against a chavez. Seeing the damage on the live servers was disappointing lol

I think I know what the real issue is and how the deep dives are being done is actually deceptive. They omit a lot of game information many players should be well aware of. For example they mix 6* footage and 7* footage. The different rarities will scale damage differently based on challenger rating alone. Also we don’t get a good peak at the kit because are they cutting it from the 7* or 6* when showing it. It creates confusion about the units and is imo disingenuous at best.

Yeah it’ll look disappointing since he’s not using him right, it’s not a hard character to play. Once you trigger the evade just keep going for intercepts cause he will 100% evade if you mess up and each time you do it gets the cooldown off quicker, use heavies to refresh his physical vulnerabilities which are potent ones…and the 50k burst is with the sp3 rotation.

as someone who’s ascended him he is its just a matter of the playstyle being something you like, as regards to his damage the 6* is better than 7* due to him NEEDING max sig, but with max sig hes very good and very safe, allowing for a lot more ruptures to be placed. and the ruptures work as dot or if you burst them you get obviously the burst damage and the extra damage is what it would be if you let the ruptures fall off naturally.

Remember can be tuned up. But hella long wait on that. Also heard in BG starts with a crowd. So damage should be bigger there.

He did start with some crowd when I tested him there but his long rotation still makes him pretty slow against any decently chunky defenders

I have a 7* Spider-punk (unduped), he is so-so mid-tier champion.. compared to Silk which has better rotation and easier to get damage with her sp2 than S-punks tedious rotation.. he is just a good looking fun character.. does he need a buff? YES! something that would make him good unduped and better when awaken, without all the hassle

I kinda think he’s geared towards being a defender tbh. That evade is annoying af without a good counter. Kinda makes sense why he’s mid on dmg. I’m thinking he’s going to make a big resurgence once more people rank him for defence. Could use a tune up though, which is a bummer as I thought he’d be a great duel threat. Edit: weirdly enough he kinda reminds me how overseer was initially viewed; mid dmg & decent utility and look how well overseer is today.

In my opinion overseer is better than him (being a overseer player for more 1 year). His ramp up is long I know if not awakened but it worths the ramp up as in total it does around 100k damage. But doing sp2 then immediate sp1 for just 15k burst damage per hit does not worth. And yeah he is a good defender...

I got lucky on a 6star spider punk crystal and immediately took him to rank 5 sig 200. He has done a good job in battle grounds so far. Nothing amazing just yet but good. His damage being higher would be nice but I actually think something like buff immunity or a bit of extra utility against auto block, evade, or unstoppable would be better for him and give him more longevity as those turn him way down. That said, him losing all of his crowd when he is defeated makes him feel awful for war. I absolutely think that should change. He can only carry over 50% to his next match anyway so I don't think that is necessary for his balance at all. To improve your gameplay try and launch your special 1 as soon as possible after your special 2 with as much power left because the time left on the ruptures improves the damage. Also the hulk relic is really good for him too

Only thing I saw was you weren't throwing the sp1 after the sp2 fast enough to really get the most amount of damage, really want to throw the sp1 as soon as you get it cause the burst damage heavily scales with the duration of the ruptures. He still isn't the greatest, wish the physical vulnerabilities actually slowed down the expirey of the ruptures sort of cassie's powersting and taunt style when she applies the poison

That's fair, I'll try to practice how fast I throw that SP1 and see if that rupture duration really effects it that much

Less than impressive. Too much effort for what you get. How many situations are there where you need to be immune to ruptures, but also place ruptures specifically instead of some other debuff?

First off he’s using him wrong, secondly if you’re wanting the bigger burst damage you do sp3 then you place 2 physical vulnerabilities and you use the heavy to refresh it, then sp2 and sp1. This guy is playing him wrong anyways, the build up is faster if you’re intercepting which is safe once the evade is on cooldown smh

@@bignickdangerpimp not really…only sp3 for long fights short fights it’s fine. And again you parry he stuns just go for intercepts you mess up he evades and stuns again and you get free hits. Can quite literally build up to specials fast and baiting specials won’t take ages cause of the encore. I’m not saying he’s gonna be insane in the brain but I don’t think he’s horrible or “not all that great” like people make it seem. If they tune him up great I won’t complain lmao but he ain’t bad, just used wrong
