I’m entitled to my opinion. There is nothing wrong with not giving advice & all of her advice was clearly unsolicited. How can she possibly know what advice these people need? there’s a difference between “oh wow… that’s awesome… I’d love to talk to you about it when we’re done filming IF YOU’RE INTERESTED???” Vs “what do YOU do with all that money?! We’re going to have to talk” I wish the young woman had responded, “what do YOU do with your money?” I’m sure Kenny is a good person… this is just my opinion.

Also one of the clear lessons this episode provides us is that our assumptions are often wrong. I agree the Artist looked uncomfortable but we don’t know exactly why she possible felt comfortable. It's really saddening to see how much artists struggle to make the money they deserve. I've been trying for months to make money off my designs and it's really discouraging when you don't see a lot of traffic on your work while others make so many sales off of rushed designs or copyrighted material. Or when you do see a lot of traffic on your work, it's just a bunch of people favouriting it but not actually buying it. *Edit since some people seem to think that I'm a starving artist with no money. Lmao so obviously I have a full time job and have food. My post was referring to my online shops and artists in general (graphic designers, illustrators, fine artists, etc)
@Rattlsnke2 жыл бұрын
I went to college in 2010 for drawing. I already knew then that traditional art was in danger of being snuffed out. It devastates me so much. The only thing I have spent money on period is art. Original paintings and prints from a brilliant friend and my favorite Etsy artists. All of them end up costing at least $350 with the frames. Some almost $500. I spare no expense when it comes to art and I can’t stand when others steal people’s pieces. Something I hate about this generation is stealing people’s art and tattooing it on themselves in masses. I won’t show my art to anyone except people I am close to. I couldn’t deal with the fine art world, I didn’t want to put myself in a box. I couldn’t stand commissions. I did two and it wasn’t worth the time or money for me to draw someone’s dog, son, or what have you. Same goes with tattooing that I had an offer for. I’d rather do it for myself not for the world and I am damn glad I decided that before we entered this age of thievery. Long nonsensical rant. I haven’t slept in almost two days.

I feel that. I would have rather gone to school for art but realistically, only thing that’s plentiful of job opportunities out there for art degrees are art teachers. Decided to keep it as a hobby and pursue business where my second passion lies. Able to fund my hobbies through it fortunately.
@Rattlsnke2 жыл бұрын
@@MollyHuffle I am very glad you pursued your second passion in business. I was a dual major in psychology and art. I would never give up on getting my degree in art. I both learned so much and it was such a brilliant experience. I ultimately wanted to be a therapist, but it didn’t work out for reasons unrelated to this. I also had a spot in the BFA program, but had to leave school and only got my BA. You truly can succeed in the art world if you go to grad school quite often if you are truly dedicated. Like I already said though, I didn’t want to put myself in that fine art box. I would have loved to do a year more of it at graduate level. I went to a beautiful college, full of beautiful people. I did get great grades and especially succeeded in art. If you are an artist and it is your passion, go to school for it. You won’t regret it. Technically the women who made 800k IS in fact correct? They were not saying richest or poorest on your salary just “Richest to poorest” so she is right she did make 800k last year. Hope everyone has a great and blessed day!🌸

I love Kenny (is that the right name & spelling for the woman w/ the job at the VA and nonprofit?) it would be interesting to see everyone's work; the artist's art, taste the family restaurant food, hear some music, get a neon sign, etc. do it the other way around, how much would you pay for this?

Wow, it will always blow my mind how in the US 20k a year is not much. In my country 20k dollars is what the average professional earns in my country in about 3 years. I mean. I think I need to go work in the US, live like crap for a couple years, save all the money I make and then come back... I'll be rich lol
@mac97332 жыл бұрын
A lot of people do that and it works! Usually they stay in the US though and send money back home, but this would work too

gotta find a spot where you make that much and also don't lose it all in rent (most cities rent is over 1k/month,and places like Chicago/New York can be 3-4k/month) it depends on what you do also

The final order is actually what I would’ve guessed except for the stay at home mum who confused me but hearing about her income, I think that’s cheating. Artists don’t make that much, especially painters and especially if they wanna make good art rather than cater to the masses (which is the vibe he gave off) and I thought the girl in the family business maybe doesn’t need as much money cause her parents can support her? But I guess I guessed correctly under a flawed assumption 😂

Why did that woman immediately ask the girl who said she worked in the automotive industry if she was a secretary? Sure, she might have been, but she also could have been a mechanic or an engineer or a salesperson.
@teehee.18622 жыл бұрын
fr, when i think of a job in the automotive industry i think engineering or sales, not a secretary damn the white shirt girl looked visibly put-off by her question i wish the director would have asked her why she said secretary
@madisonalexa96342 жыл бұрын
I think bc when you hear that you automatically assume people in that industry are making money, so it seemed like she was checking to see like “you don’t happen to do a job in the auto industry that DOESNT make money, right?”

calm down “feminist” it’s not that deep
@Rowanda73612 жыл бұрын
because she’s a young girl… statistically not a lot of young girls her age are car dealership mechanics and also probably are not educated enough to be an engineer. Calm down please Mia
@teehee.18622 жыл бұрын
Why are two people telling her to “calm down”? All she’s wondering is a simple question. No accusations. No yelling or caps lock. Mia’s initial impression of an automative occupations are a mechanic, engineer, or salesperson. It’s the 21st century. Many young women in their early 20s are getting those jobs, I’m sure. So she was wondering why the guesser’s initial impression of a job in the automative industry is a secretary when there are more obvious guesses. Mia said nothing about feminism. …are people going to tell me to calm down, now? lol
