True! I never hated Trent even in Action or Island. I liked him in every aspects. I know there are few moments where he fell down, like throwing challenges and the number nine thing, but it was at a short period. I guess the only reason why he became forgotten as a character is because if you count the Ridonculous Race(Geoff without Ridonculous Race is the male contestant who has gone the longest without competing), Trent is the male contestant who has gone the longest without competing.

Gwen never had anything to prove. She didn’t have the motivation to win, and her arrival on the island was nothing but being annoyed at everyone. She constantly said stuff like “I hate this place!” and she never even wanted to win. It’s only until much later in the season did she say “I made it this far I might as well win” which is awful reasoning. Edgy Gwen is best Gwen and they do slowly abandon this version of gwen as the season goes on. They change her from being that edgy goth girl to “the good girl” character which isn’t exactly accurate. Gwen is just as mean, if not meaner than Heather. The only difference is gwen didn’t care to win until much later so she didn’t use her meanness to advance herself like Heather did. The whole point with Gwen making it as far as she did was she wasn’t deemed a threat. That was the point. Duncan and Heather explicitly say this when Geoff is eliminated.

Some characters like Bridgette Courtney DJ Duncan Geoff Gwen Trent Owen Leshawna and Izzy definately they were really the high peak and peaked at best during TDI regarding their character development and portrayal based on how well written and developed they are and its a shame that some of them got ruined and worser while falling out from grace post season 1 (TDA/TDWT/TDAS) after these high peak success of TDI glory days when they were in characters and not acting out of character. Some of the fan favorite to filler campers like Harold Lindsay Heather Cody Beth Justin Noah Tyler and Ezekiel to some extent they were really the high peak and peaked at best after TDI regarding their character development and portrayal based on how well written fleshed out and developed as they got better character arcs and good development during TDA, TDWT and TDRR to an extent.

Harold was great in challenges but I think he lacked in personality for the first couple of episodes. It was hard for him to be himself because of Duncan. Cody was dry in the 1st season imo. He was funny but could’ve been better

Owen not being last is a crime. He's self centered throwing the food challenge. Eating all the food in camp castaways Barely winning any challenges cuz in the second episode they won as a team owen only jumped like the rest. 90% of his screentime is him farting and eating Pushed izzy in front of the killer in the horror movie spoof episode. He really had no interesting plot or relationships minus with izzy that barely got explored. The only challenge he did okay in was dodgeball, but was overshadowed by harold who arguably showed he's not useless. So i don't get why people say he's nice he's egoistic hogged up all the screentime that instead could've gone to more interesting characters with more potential.
