Fun fact about Toad's Factory: There was a glitch in Wii's code that caused the music to start 7 seconds later than where it was supposed to. This makes it the only Wii nitro where Lap 3's music starts at the same place as Lap 1's

It’s even worse when it was actually datamined to be in the original MK8 DLC back in 2014-2015. It was either replaced by Cheese Land or Neo Bowser City iirc. And then we got Rosalina’s Ice World in Wave 6 of the BCP when we thought there wouldn’t be another 3DS track so we also got juked there 💀

Fun fact: The cherry blossom falling effect in 3DS Mario Circuit isn't actually rendered in real-time, it just toggles on when you get to that area then off when you leave it. Honestly, Wario Stadium from 64 has a lot that could be done for it in a remake. Obviously being able to trick off the bumps and jumps, but it also has a lot of turns that would make good half pipes, the dips in the track could be flooded, the big jump could be a glider ramp, and if it still feels necessary it could work as a 2 lap track like Warios colloseum.

For tracks where it is always raining such as GBA Luigi Circuit a remake of the track should have it so that the rain makes the track slippery by reducing the traction by like 25% from normal to make the race feel like it is actually impacting the track, of course if you go inside something and out of the rain then that section of the track should have normal traction

Top 12 courses not in 8 Deluxe I hope return immediately in the next Mario Kart game: 12. Wii Luigi Circuit- If we have to bring back a starter course for the Shell Cup, I think this is the best option that hasn’t been remade yet. While I enjoy Mario Kart Stadium, I think other Mario Kart 8 courses should be prioritized above it, and Wii Luigi Circuit is certainly a more worthwhile pick than Figure-8 Circuit. 11. SNES Mario Circuit 4- While It’s not the most amazing course ever, it’s still pretty solid and long overdue to return after getting Mario Circuit 3 for the literal 5th time. 10. 3DS Daisy Hills- A great pick for the shell cup as it’s simple but fun 9. Wii Dry Dry Ruins- One of the best desert courses in the series 8. GBA Cheep-Cheep Island- A fun, already very pretty beach course that would look amazing in HD 7. N64 Wario Stadium- The only course on this list I actually don’t like in the original version. However, I think it’s pretty unfair that it’s the only N64 course that hasn’t been remade and I believe it could be redeemed in a future remake. 6. 3DS Shy Guy Bazaar- Another course from Mario Kart 7 that is due for a remake- I really love the theme and visuals 5. GCN Mushroom City- I don’t get why this course hasn’t been remade yet- it’s one of my favorite traffic courses as well as one of my favorites courses overall from Double Dash. 4. DS Bowser Castle- One of the most unique and fun Bowser’s Castles in the entire series 3. GBA Rainbow Road- A very fun, underrated Rainbow Road that deserves to return especially considering we got the SNES version of this classic track in 7 and the N64 version in 8 2. 3DS Maka Wuhu- While I am a big fan of Wuhu Loop as well, Maka Wuhu would look especially impressive in HD due to its beautiful sunset especially with the awesome gliding section at the end 1. Wii Toad’s Factory- An amazing course that is long overdue for a remake- the theme and execution is easily one of my favorites of any Mushroom Cup course in the entire series. With that being said, here are the Mario Kart 8 courses I most want to return in the next game: 4. Thwomp Ruins- It’s my favorite course in this game’s Mushroom Cup and is simple enough to be the last course in the Shell Cup. 3. Toad Harbor- An amazing course that would fit perfectly in the Banana Cup. 2. Sunshine Airport- One of the best themes of any course in the entire series, with a great layout and visuals. It is definitely a more than worthy pick for the next game’s leaf cup. 1. Cloudtop Cruise- An amazing evolution of Sky Garden and Airship Fortress’s themes while doing it’s own thing as well, making it a great priority course for the Lightning Cup.

imo, piranha plant pipeline is better than piranha plant slide. i love piranha plant slide but pipeline just has so much more going on (in a good way). it has the most separate branching paths ive seen in any mario kart course, and they both have different gimmicks. i also really like the atmosphere of the course. piranha plant slide does have the underwater section that pipeline lacks, but i feel like everything else makes up for it

If they made 18 more cups (with 2 new tracks), all 70 of the tracks in this video (that didn't make the cut) could've been in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as well. In the future, I really hope they come out with something like an all course pass for the rest of the tracks in the Mario Kart Series and make 18 more cups for them. Might be they left a few of these out on purpose, to add them in the next Mario Kart. Especially with the more complex ones like Bpwser Castle or the Ship one. Maybe they where afraid the Switch would struggle when going full out with such courses

You know what I would like but Nintendo certainly won't do? First, they give us the new Mario Kart (nine or whatever) and it has no retro tracks. Everything is new and accomodated for the new number of drivers. And then, when the game is established and the first DLCs come out - they also bring new DLCs for 8 Deluxe. Both games get parallel upgrades as they fill different niches and at some point we have all the old tracks on 8 Deluxe and tons of new ones in the new game. Yeah, way too much effort, I know. They won't do that. But I would prefer it to, say, a much wider version of Toad's Factory in the new game.

Great list! Good work! Piranha Plant Pipeline was created to celebrate the 100th tour in MarioKart Tour. It was inspired by dokan_course, a track that was supposed to be included in MarioKart DS but was cut. I think its exclusion from MarioKart 8 may have been due to an unfortunate branding choice. Piranha Plant Cove was originally called “Ocean Ruins”, which would’ve made much more sense, because even though Piranha Plants do feature in Cove, they don’t describe the underwater theme as well. Cove was out for 7 months before it made its way into MarioKart 8, but the Nintendo team waited to include it until the last wave of the Booster Course Pass. It would have been strange to include two MarioKart Tour tracks called “Piranha Plant” in the same wave, so unfortunately Pipeline was cut. (It also has a similar name to “Piranha Plant Pipeway”, which is what the UK version of MarioKart calls “Piranha Plant Slide”, adding to the confusion.) Pipeline is an exciting track and very fun to play, but it never showed up in any other tours. Now that MarioKart Tour is in Loop Mode, it’s the only Tour course that has never been remade and thus is only playable for two weeks out of the whole year!

The pipes on Desert Hills are from SMB3's desert levels. Same with the angry sun and fire snakes. Also I think Piranha Plant Pipeline was based on a Beta DS track but I don't remember.
