Also another few deaths this season could have been way better in season 8. The season's first 3 episodes are decent until you reach the end of the third episode which you will hate. Plus the final 3 episodes are js dogshit in general and thew out many plot points and character development plots and arcs.

I actually love all the seasons of Game of Thrones. I know a lot of people were disappointed with season 8 but too be honest, Game of Thrones season 8 was not as bad as everybody say it was. It may not in the same level as Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2, Samurai Jack season 5, Breaking Bad season 5, and Better Call Saul season 6 but it’s not as terrible as the finale of Dexter or Lost or The Sopranos. I still enjoy it from what it is. Game of Thrones in my opinion is one of the greatest fantasy tv series of all time. But hey, at least House of the Dragon is a wonderful prequel.

Season 5 was 4/10, it was dumb, illogical and it's the beginning of downfall of GoT. They ignored Lady Stoneheart, Young Griff, Arianne and Quentyn Martell, majority of Daenerys and Jon character arcs, no Sansa as Alayne Stone, Arya's training was shortened and downplayed, Littlefinger acts like an idiot, no Varys and his plots, no Kevan Lannister, no Willas and Garlan Tyrell, no Jeyne Poole as Arya to fool Boltons, no Tyrion being ruthless monster etc. Instead of that we got c*ck jokes, drunk Tyrion, stupid Jon, naive Daenerys, death of Doran and Dorne (one of the most important regions with army that is ready for war), Littlefinger and Varys acting like their iq is below average, Jaime not abandoning Cersei etc. That season was the end of logic and good writing.

I actually like that they skipped the Lady Stonehart part. It gives Cateryn's death much more depth. Having her resurrected kinda destroys the impact of the Red Wedding imo. That being said, Dorne's plotline should've gone the books' way.

@TheJosman I agree with you kinda but Lady Stoneheart is vastly different than Lady Catelyn. She's cold and none of Catelyn's attributes. That's what gives the resurrection an actual point. Unlike Jon's. He's basically the same person throughout the rest of the seasons.

@@raymondsims7042 They're good but they weren't any better than some of the best seasons from other shows like The Wire, The Sopranos and Breaking Bad, but no other show shit the bed as badly as GoT did, so it loses points for that. When half of your show is mediocre, that's a problem. IMO, the only truly great seasons of Game of Thrones were seasons 1, 3 and 4. That's it.

And the wire season 4 maybe the best season of tv ever. But as a whole game of thrones is better than breaking bad and the sopranos in my opinion. I love both those shows but they’re not on game of thrones level in my opinion. Only show better is the wire. And that’s only game of thrones ending was so bad. The first 4 seasons were peak, season 5 and 6 were slower, but had great payoffs at the end of each season. Season 7 was a distraction with more action set pieces than satisfying character moments. Then season 8 proved that those who were worried during season 7 were right.

The winds of winter was a good battle but the rest of the episode was mediocre and the battle of the bastards was also good but there wasn’t much super good writing, I don’t think being cool is the only thing that qualifies for a good episode. I personally enjoyed the battle of black water because it intermingled good writing and cool action. Not saying those other battle where “bad” by any means

Yeah that was probably the most egregious omission from the books up to that point. It basically sent Tyrion off into a completely different direction than his book counterpart, and not in a good way.

If you think season 8 is a good season then I seriously hope you never get into the entertainment industry because any project that has you involved will lose money. Everything was wrong with season 8, from the writing, characters, stories, the ending, the only good part was the music, but a season that makes Jon snow a robot, makes Arya immune to dragon fire,completely destroys Jaime's character in one sentence, makes Bran who three-eyed raven powers pointless, it's not a good season. Just watch Supercuts delights video on it, he sums it up perfectly.

The bad writing started to show in season 4. The just started cutting plots, or cheaply rewriting them. There are 3 amazing seasons, one good to great one with hints towards future problems, 2 mediocre ones, and 2 awful ones. Sure, the spectacle was getting raised seasons 5-8, but this show was always about great dialogue, connected writing, and political intrigue. The spectacle was the bonus, and the second it became the feature, it was at the expense of more important aspects of the show.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I think season 8 wasn't that bad. I mean, it's by far the worst season of the show, but I think it doesn't deserve that much hate. Yes, it was rushed, and yes, the ending of the white walkers makes no sense. But besides that, I think they made many good choices. The first two episodes were great, maybe too calmed but great, the long night had many great moments, and the second half of the season (although it has flaws) is pretty entertaining. Also, the ending of the characters is great, especially Bran, who was the most intelligent choice to become king.
