Jak 2 is a super underrated game from that era of consoles. The only thing I dislike about it is there's not much to do in Haven City itself, so it kinda becomes just a zone you traverse between missions. I have to say Spargus and war zone Haven were better in this aspect

i mean this was 2003, just having a map with no load screens (or few if we are counting the big door that lead in and out the main city) was insane. not sure what they couldve done at the time, they did have those mini quest you could do. maybe Opengoal jak2 can add in stuff like that

I know which one you're talking about. The one after you pick up a precursor piece at the docks. Several things you can do to help are Stockpile the crap as many Metal head orbs as you possibly can. Kill them all for Giant Dark Jak Punch, uppercut, spin with the blaster or scatter to keep close proximity enemies at bay Very good schmooving with the jetboard and rolling long jump as well as punch then upper

Jak 3 was the only game from the trilogy I played during my childhood. I love that game. I love every environment the game has in it. The deserts, the crypts, the waterways, the volcano, the city. It's all so cool. I used to draw huge colored maps of different locations in game with those big presentation papers. I namely drew the structure under the area you jump off with the glider. I also had the guidebook with all the concept art and whatnot. That was really cool. Also, the final boss is still one of the most epic final bosses I've ever seen in over a decade of gaming. It serves as inspiration for my own final bossfight in a game I want to make.

I've heard some people complain about how jak 2 and 3 took too much of a turn from what precursor was and they didn't like that. I grew up with these games. I loved that they aged with me and got cooler and edgy. And Ashelin was a core memory for me. She was one of the ones that awakened something in me lol anyways, still love these games to this day

I wanted to love Jak II. I really did. I almost lost my fucking mind getting gold on all those races, and I only cheated my way through Onin's minigame with debug mode. I was enjoying the story, loved the art style, and liked the platforming sections well enough. Then I got the Keira glitch. Yeah, that one that SOFTLOCKS THE ENTIRE FUCKING GAME. *RIGHT BEFORE THE ENDING* . I went "fuck it", bypassed the glitch by restarting the game before her mission through the debug mode, game myself 1000 of everything, got every Dark Jak power ups and finished the game. The only Platinum I got that I wasn't proud of.

It doesn't take anything away from the other games. It's a handheld spin off you obviously will choose the trilogy to play at home or x but if you already have beaten daxter and you go on bus or plane it's perfect jak experience on the go to spare some time. Also you can play previews jak games after and the games feel fresh and better. It accomplishes the desire of going through jak games again that's fun.
