I had the same thing with my dad, we used to always puzzle together, but when he passed away back in June, we hadn't finished the puzzle we were working on and my family just took it apart without asking me, I only found the motivation to start working on that puzzle again a few months ago (haven't finished it yet as I'm now in uni and find it hard to find time for puzzles)

Oh my goodness, that Spring Begins puzzle is exquisite! The flowers! The textures! The Rainbow of colors! I was so ready to buy it, but I can't find it anywhere online. I love the themes in many of these puzzles - body positivity, feminism, lgbtqia+ representation, we love to see it! So many great art styles too, I can’t even pick a favorite! I want to do more puzzles with quirky and different piece shapes, but I would love to see that video about tips for same color puzzles or sections of a puzzle

Omg! My family did the Disney Princess version of this puzzle during the 2020 lockdown! We had the exact same problems as Karen with colors not going where we thought, putting together the grids, etc. but it was so much fun!

The Spring Begins puzzle is gorgeous! Such a beautiful rainbow of awesome colors! I haven’t done any of these puzzles before but that’s the one I’d want to do most. I’ve done a similar Disney villain puzzle before and I was really surprised how difficult it was!

Loved the variety here Karen. Particularly thought the semi gradient one was clever. And a nice rainbow. I’ve be working on heye loup orchestra, 2000. It is super hard for me, but great fun. The Loup artwork is really clever, the faces of the orchestra, choir and audience are all different and they are mostly up to no good. My dad comes over and spends ages looking in the box, I think he is searching for all the risqué booby pieces, of which there are a few. As a musician I am enjoying that the things they are getting up to is so accurate. Recommended.

Me and my partner have been working on one of the Ravensburger exit puzzles since Christmas. Very slowly putting it together. Once we've finished we are going to send it over to his parents for them to do as well. It definitely adds a more collaborative element to the puzzle process.

I am in love with the very first puzzle you showed. I love the desing and colours! I work with kids and one of our 4 year olds started a 100 piece puzzle yesterday but wasn´t able to finish it because of time. When the child came back today it not only finished the one it started yesterday but also did another 100 piece puzzle. It made it all the way down to the easy 20 piece puzzles and did about 8 in total. One of them had a rainbow as well. Kind of what you did, just the other way around from hard to easy.

That Disney Villain puzzle looks so fun! I think that I would have DNFed (to borrow a term from booktube lol) the Rainbow Liberty puzzle once I got to just the background since I hate doing solid color puzzle sections like that. It feels like repetitive guesswork instead of a fun challenge, at least for me personally.

Once again, my wish list gets longer! I was so happy when you found the missing piece of the rainbow flag. I had the same issue with one of my Christmas puzzles but the piece eventually turned up, far away from the table I was working at. I suspect my cat may have had something to do with that! For Christmas I got (and have done) my first Galison puzzle (vintage pencils) and my first Cloudberries (symmetry). Also, thanks largely to you reigniting my love of puzzles, I started a seperate Instagram account to share the puzzles I do and the books I read. Happy New Year!

I love that 1500 piece Disney one! Even though you said it's difficult I'm intrigued 😂 I love a good Disney jigsaw, I just finished the Sleeping Beauty Thomas Kinkade one and it was so fun, although all the dark trees took me so long to do. I always tell myself I should do the dark bits first but that never works out haha. It's always so much more fun to do the colourful/rainbow bits 😉

Thank you for the lovely puzzle reviews that you do. I saw your video on Wentworth wood puzzles and I bought one and now I'm just hooked on those. The wood puzzle is amazing. I'm kind of curious about the other brands of wood puzzles, like Nautilus and Liberty, but the puzzle shapes are more intimidating. My friend told me that Liberty would replace a missing piece for you... which I thought was just amazing. As for cardboard types, I always have certain things I want to know... puzzle thickness/quality, picture quality (like is it high def or pixelated), matte or shiny, and puzzle shapes, if the shapes are so similar (as in that black and rainbow one you did) that they are easy to put the wrong pieces together. I love the Wentworth puzzles because the shapes vary so much that it's fun to look for each individual piece More brand specifics than individual pictures info, because art is in the eye of the beholder (and by the way, I love that one you want to keep together too... nice choice), :D

Spring begins is for sure my aesthetic, but Im sort of drawn to the difficulty of the disney. My mom and I are doing puzzles every week so to have one where we can do sections but also is tough enough to not be done in an hour is super cool! I tend to prefer painting puzzles over cartoon so Im surprised how much fun it looks. Such a rainbow of goodness :)

One thing I found that helps me on solid colors is to lay them out in rows like you did....but, look for a grain in the paper by holding the piece at an angle to a light. Some puzzles will have a grain....some do not. If you lay them out with all the grain going the same way, you have knocked out 50% of the guess work. I will take a piece from the assembled area and just run it up and down the rows to find the one that fits VS. taking a piece and trying to find where it fits in the puzzle. I will only do this once for each piece, If I dont find it the first try, I will move on to another piece. I will also try and build the solid areas with boxed in empty spots. IE build all around to make an empty space and you will see the shape of the piece that goes n the empty area. :) It also helps to put a penny in the spot you pulled your piece from the completed puzzle so you remember where to put it once you find a match.

I just found a couple Eeboo puzzles at a thrift store and snatched them up so fast! I did the “Eating Outside” puzzle first, and gosh distinguishing between all of those oranges was a challenge! I ended up making myself do the hard parts first (or as much as I could), because I knew if I did all the fun parts and was just left with the hard parts, there was a good chance I’d just say, “Good enough!” and take it apart without finishing it.

Oh, the RAINBOW one! I love eeBoo puzzles and I actually have and done the Urban Gardening one (besides like 8 other eeBoo puzzles). What I love about them is that you usually feel like you're progressing, since they are filled with different colours and textures, so it's quite surprising to see the Liberty Rainbow one with big patches of black. Areas like that can get a little frustrating, but it's always satisfying to eventually complete them :D

Yes ! Please do give some tips on doing large areas of the same plain color when there are not random/specialized piece shapes to help. It is hard especially with very dark colors.

I haven't done any of those. I would probably most likely do the Escape one or the Lemonade Pursuits (Spring Begins). I really enjoy the escape puzzles and mystery puzzles. And also enjoy trying new brands and I haven't tried Lemonade Pursuits yet. Loved that Rainbow one ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

Great compilation of puzzles you did, I enjoyed watching you go thru them in this way! I have Ravensburger Witchs Kitchen and thought it was pretty difficult doing it solo - I think 2 heads are better than 1 with those. I really love the Goodfit Dream Cluttet that you did, I'm going to check them out. Oh man! I was so hoping that Better Co. puzzle in the stack was the Splatter Gradient one I have been working on. I haven't done a puzzle in years but I thought it would be fun and easy, and I was SO wrong! After I put the edge together I had no idea how to even get started. I watched your videos and they helped me sort things into color and get moving. I would say I'm probably 1/5th or 1/4th done now, so thank you! My boyfriend jokes that if I finish it, he's going to have me committed because it's an insane puzzle for insane people, lol. I can only recommend this one if you love challenges -- I think it's much tougher than a normal gradient because it only uses about 3 colors, and they show up in multiple places. I have already ordered a few other (hopefully) EASIER puzzles. Anyway, thanks for sharing Karen!

Holy cow. I've been working on a 550 pc puzzle for DAYS! And I couldn't figure out why it was so difficult! After watching this it makes sense. It's a painting, it's all orange/yellow with a blue/purple outer edge, its pieces are irregular.... I feel much more excited to finish it tomorrow knowing its valid-ly difficult lol

I also did the Eeboo Urban Garden over Christmas and loved it! Eeboo is one of my favorite puzzle companies, and I've considered buying the one you showed that is all pinks and oranges, but have resisted for that very reason, and you have now confirmed that it's not really for me
